Plangainer has participated in the WorldVision Song Contest 8 times since its debut in the 98th edition of the contest, where Camille finished fifteenth, the country's worst placement in the contest. Plangainer's best result comes in the 114th edition of the contest, where Stefanie Feliciano earned second place by a margin of one point from the edition's reigning winner Gallicelèstia.

As of the country's last participation in the 114th edition, Plangainer has yet to win the contest.

History

Plangainer debuted in the 98th edition of the WorldVision Song Contest after prolonged interest in participation prior to the debut dating all the way back to the 95th edition, with the national broadcaster having previously deliberated participation due to potential effort to boost engagement with the creation of the Melodine Song Festival and viewership of entertainment programmes on the network, and with the admittance of AIM into the International Broadcasting Alliance, the broadcaster pushed to begin participating in the contest. The contest and each broadcasted edition is archived and watchable on PORTAL, a video on demand service hosted by AIM.

Since the 104th edition of the contest, Plangainer had used various means to select their performer with various results, alternating between an internal method of selecting a performer to utilizing the Melodine Song Festival to establish their representative, efforts were later concentrated to establish an independent show for the purpose of being the core selection process for selecting future acts, the broadcaster revealed that the plans were eventually canned and that the broadcaster would continue utilizing Melodine further as the format of selection.

Absences

Plangainer has withdrawn from the WorldVision Song Contest a number of times. The first withdrawal after their debut was two editions after their initial debut, during the centennial edition of the WorldVision Song Contest when AIM had reported that the participant had been injured in a vehicular collision during preparation and rehearsal weeks in Monterra, Kalosia, when the broadcaster had come to an agreement to put contest preparations on pause, and later the next day announcing that the conditions are deemed unfit for the broadcaster to continue participating without putting risk to the recovery of the affected parties. The broadcaster had remained absent until the 103rd edition and then later withdrawing in the 105th edition after citing internal complications with delegation and broadcaster affairs that would impede the involvement and organization of the act to perform in the contest.

The country would then proceed to withdraw for the 107th, 109th, 110th and a period between 111th and 114th citing from internal discussion to be absent to conflicts of interest and scheduling. AIM would later clarify that while participation is always on the table every proceeding edition, appearance in the contest at a constant basis may not be possible for a multitude of factors, but will continue to broadcast the show to audiences in the country regardless of their status of participation.
