The 116th WorldVision Song Contest was held in September 2024 in Dougaç, Ugunnustan. The show was organised by the International Broadcasting Alliance (IBA) and host broadcaster Yuifh Ugunnustan (YUG) in collaboration with Mother Cupcakke's broadcaster.
This was the second time that Ugunnustan hosted the contest, having previously done so with the 110th edition of the contest in Ous, Ugunnustan.
The winner was Malta Comino Gozo, with the song 'Passionate' by Emma Maxwell. It was Malta Comino Gozo's tenth win tying them with Polkopia for the most WorldVision victories. Polkopia placed second with Ertzei Kishim taking third place. Saint Monkey achieved their best result to date coming in fourth and debutants Marissolia placed fifth. Saintrabina returned after a 28 edition absence.
Host Bidding Process
Two countries showed interest in hosting the 116th edition of the WorldVision Song Contest, with the ballot for host voting being held between 12 August and 19 August between member broadcasters participating in the contest.
Dougaç, Ugunnustan
The city of Dougaç expressed interest in hosting the contest at the Ruslanov-Aminev Centre, the largest stadium in the province of Daşdar and home to the Dougaç FC team. With a spectator capacity of 15,000 for events, the arena was adjusted to be fit to host the contest with the accompanying car park being converted into an open-air market. The stage which was included with the submitted bid to the contest committee was designed by Carmen Fauskov.
Cäer, Darkmania
Depite confirming earlier that they weren't going to bid, the city of Cäer later changed their minds and were intrested in hosting the contest at the Builderman Arena (also known as Cäer Indoor Hall), a multi-use venue with a total capacity of 10,000 spectators, as their normal venue of choice were unavailable due to maintence and renovation works. The city is the second largest in Darkmania with a population of 7 million, and is also home to the Cäer Musical Festival.
