Zhousheng is a independent country in Anteria bordering Gadorien, Prei Meas, Slovanska Kraj, Elenias, Bakyern & Monte Blanco. It is a member of the Mustelarian Federation along with Monte Blanco. It was formed in 1943 shortly after the War of the Council from the Zhoushi Union, which consisted of semi-independent countries of Bogmia and Zhengia, and the Zhoushi Council State. It officially turned into a homogenous country via integration act of 1984. It is a proud member of the Sekidean Union's Inner Circle and a proud actor in the Anterian World Assembly.
History
History of Zhousheng can not be told as a single timeline, rather as a logical conclusion of two timelines.
Bogmian perspective
Ancient history and Bogmian Empire
Polyanshi were a branch of Slavic descent, which migrated at around 20 CE from the area of present-day Nerany to Zhousheng. From the 3rd to 15th centuries, cultural separation caused the Polyashi people to split into Bogmanci/Bogmian, Slovanci/Slovans and Belgorci/Monte Blancans. In around 760 AD, Bogmians were able to consolidate themselves and form the Bogmian Empire, which spanned from southern Monte Blanco across Zhengian and Bogmian linguistic areas and southern Slovanska Kraj. The empire is seen as a beginning of the integration of Bogmian and Zhengian cultures.
The Dark Ages
After 300 years, Bogmian Empire slowly deteriorated and region after region started to break away from the central government. As of 1200 AD, Zhousheng slowly transformed into a huge area of infighting between tens, if not hundreds, of local dukes and kings. Around this time, the majority of local Bogmian warlords adopted Christianity, which spread into the area through Gadorien. In the 1520's, a new movement began to spring up. Over the span of 3 centuries, minor duchies, kingdoms and even electorates slowly merged into 3 large entities: Kingdom of Bogmia (controlling the center and north of present day Zhousheng), Kingdom of Zhengia (controlling the southern and coastal areas of present day Zhousheng) & Kingdom of Haldenia (controlling the west areas separated from the rest of Zhousheng by mountains). Haldenia and Bogmia attempted to control each other's church positions, which lead to a huge distrust of the church by the general populace. That lead to multiple wars of religious reformations, which in the end resulted in creating a unitary church with a round table council not influenced by any king or royal of sorts.
Empire of Three Kings
In 1773, this era of instability was ended by unification of the Kingdom of Monte Blanco, Kingdom of Bogmia & Kingdom of Zhengia into the Empire of Three Kings, lead by the Chepichkik dynasty, the former royal family of Monte Blanco, which became the imperial dynasty. The empire is seen as a golden era of Zhoushi history and is de facto a founding stone for the present day Mustelaria. The Empire tried enforcing one artificial language as a base. This language was based on the old proto-polyanshi southern dialects. In around 1800, Haldenia was integrated into the Empire as a part of Bogmia. This language, called the "Imperial Mustelarian" was later dropped. Empire collapsed on 18th November 1862 with a dispute over bloodline purity of the Chepichkik dynasty. Following that, all of the three kingdoms began operating as independent entities. On the wake of the 19th century, monarchies in Zhengia, Bogmia and Monte Blanco fell one by one, transforming their countries into parliamentary democracies.
Recent History
In 1912, Zhengia and Bogmia, entered a political union, which connected their foreign relations and monetary policies into one. On the same time, a writing reformation of Bogmian occured, abandoning the long-used Coptic script (which is still used in literar Monte Blancan) in favor of a new Latin alphabet. On May 9th, 1932, western provinces of Bogmia declared independence and officially established a communist government, collaboratively called "The Council" (Old Bogmian: ⲣⲁⲇⲁ (rada), Latin Bogmian: Rada), therefore the war was called "The War of the Council". The civil war dragged Zhengia into the conflict as well, de facto unifying the two nations in weapon. On September 5th 1942, the Council State surrendered when Zhoushi troops (Zhoushi standing army was formed in 1940) raised a Union flag over the Worker's Counsulate (Literary Bogmian: Pracovny Konzulat, Literary Zhengian: Praƌofƞi Gonsulaat (as you can see, Zhengian took a lot from Bogmian grammar and culture)). The war was a push for a federation of Zhousheng, which was formed in 1943. In the next decades, the country integrated first into the Shanghou Pact and later into the Sekidean Union. On December 31st 1984, a New Year's Integration Bill was passed, officially recognizing the hybrid language of Bogmian and Zhengian as a official language of Zhousheng. On August 23rd 2020, a Empire of Three Kings was reformed for 2 minutes, named the Empire of Mustelaria, which allowed the Chepichkik dynasty head to officially surrender the crown to the people by laying it on the wheat wreath. By this act, the Empire was abolished and new Federation of Zhousheng and Monte Blanco was formed, named the Federation of Mustelaria.
Zhengian perspective
Expected migration period
The southern areas of Zhousheng called Zhengia were settled by Zhengs, which are linguistically descendants of Prei Means and Phnoms. Zhengian people migrated across the mountains from Prei Meas to southern Mustelaria in 1st century BCE. No records from 1st century about this migration can be found, therefore this part of the history relies on 5th century historical records from Zhengian Kingdom's scrolls (Old Zhengian dialect of Prei Mean: នគរហ្សេង (nokr hsae ng).
Bogmian integration
The Kingdom was conquered by Bogmians in about 800 AD and integrated into the Bogmian Empire. At this time, the old Zhengian started to give their way to the older Bogmian-Zhengian dialects, which dominated lower classes of most of the Zhengian states during the Dark Ages. Although linguistically shifting from Prei Mean root to Bogmian one, religion remains predominantly Kammist (Records from 1560 show, that although about 70% of recorded populace spoke some macaronic hybrid of Zhengian and Bogmian language, more than 90% of the populace were actively practicing Kammist religion).
Zhengian kingdom and The Empire of Three Kings
Zhengian Kingdom was formed in around 1720 CE and was quickly tied in a constant struggle over the culture. Zhengian language was actively dying as Zhengian intelligence was migrating to Bogmia, which was far more open to foreign ideals (Zhengian attempt to salvage the ancient Zhengian language backfired, because most of the intelligence felt oppressed by the draconic laws enforcing Zhengian language only). The Kingdom was integrated to the Empire of Three Kings after a civil war decimated their army and the victorious Jamgic (Standard Zhengian: ចាជី (cha chi), Bogemised Zhengian: ទ្ឝម្ត្ឝវ្ចិ (Dzhamzhovtsi) declared their intention on salvaging the Zhengian culture by integrating it with Bogmians, not by subjecting it to Bogmian. The era of the Zhengian presence in the Empire of Three Kings is seen as a quick pace of destruction of former Zhengian grammar, but salvation of their philosophy and culture and its proliferation across Bogmian territories.
Post-Imperial history
After the fall of the Empire, Zhengians tied themselves to new Bogmian state and formed a political Union by 1912. In 1915, Zhengians officially abandoned the old Prei Mean writing system in favor of the new Latin alphabet. After the War of the Council, Zhengians officially founded the Federation of Zhousheng with Bogmians, officially integrating Zhengian accents on the Macaronic language into the new Pan-Zhoushi dialects (which is a reason, why current Zhoushi alphabet has 40 separate phonemes, which is the most of any langauge from the whole of Anteria). During the Prei Mean civil war, Zhengian areas were heavily fortified by Zhoushi army and later used as a bridgehead in the involvement.
Demographics
Language
Introduction
Zhoushi language is a part of Kento-Poylash subgroup of Slavic languages.
The language has a slavic root and grammar, however, unlike other slavic languages, has 8 grammatical cases (other have 7 or 6). Also, there are about 700 Zhengian words in present day Zhoushi language, they are declined using Bogmian grammar. Because of the Zhengian accents profilerating, Zhoushi language has 40 unique phonemes, 2 of which are exclusive to Zhoushi language.

People
In Zhousheng, most of the people are combination of Prei-Phnom and Sivuk-Slavogermanic genetic groups. Zhoushi people, have, however, one rarity. It is now widely believed, that hexadactyly originated in Zaprei region and by 9th century AD spread thanks to trade routes in Bogmian Empire into most of present-day Zhousheng. In present days, about 36% of Zhoushi populace have five fingers and one thumb on each hand.
Counting system
As stated above, thanks to the prominence of hexadactyly between the Zhoushi populace, Zhousheng is one of the few nations, that developed a dozenal system. Zhousheng officially used latinized dozenal system until 1978, when the government officially decided to abandon the system and move towards a decimal system. In school, both systems are told in a paralel to each other, which helps Zhoushi students to better understand numbers and aren't tied to just one graphical representation of the number, supporting abstract thinking. However, this also causes some problems with education, therefore math is being told in kindergarden as well to balance the pressure kids would be subjected during math exams.

Currently, dozenal system is used only sparsely in common use, but for example clocks still retained their original cyclic description (that is 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-ᚴ-ⵒ-ᘐ), some translations of the Kaȝin Canon still use dozenal naming, especially in the Book of Revelation.
Religion
Zhousheng is split almost equally among Christianity and Kammism
Although Christianity is prominent in the North and West, Kammism has a prime role in the South and Southeast. The "Connection religions" is a term used by Zhoushi government to qualify all philosophical relgion hybrids of Kaȝin Christianity and Kammism, trying to find a missing step, so called "Religious bridge (Nabөзeƞski mөst in modern Zhoushi). This effort comes from the idea, that there is only one truth, but multiple ways to reach it. Those movements (either philosophical and theoretical or even religious cults) are trying to find a connection between Kammist and Christian doctrines, bases & sacred texts. Those movements are supervised by the Zhoushi government in order to prevent spread of dangerous cults to the general populace.
Zhengian Kammism
Zhengians, being descendant from Prei Means adopted Kammism as their state religion. During the ages, but especially during the Empire of Three Kings, religion developed more towards spritualism and self-preservation, rather than literal interpretation and ortodoxy. Some factions of Kammist belief in Zhousheng claim to have multiple other texts not included in the main religion, that depicts the interraction of Preah in the region across the mountains from Prei Meas.
Only real claim, that has awaken a real controversy even between more ortodox Zhoushi Kammists refers to the holy wars between Zhengians and a undisclosed nationality reffered to as "The Marks", which, according to the script, did practice a polygamous polyteistic religion and were able to incarnate demons from the mud of valleys. This ideology goes both against Kammism (both Zhengian and Prei Mean branches), any branch of Christianity developed in Zhousheng, as well as archeological discoveries from the area.
Kaȝin Christianity
Kaȝin Christianity has the plurality in Zhousheng. It was formed during a protestant reformation during the Dark Ages, having been protesting mostly against the prominence of Church and their wealth. Kaȝin Canon was officially codified by the Empire of Three Kings,[3] having been decided to include multiple various gnostical apocrypha gospels into the Bible. Family Structure
Father is often seen as the leading role in the family via tradition, however, mother is seen as a holder of the family tradition and is expected to hold a leading voice when it comes to family planning and spending of free time (although this isn't a rule, rather a stereotype). Youngs are expected to obey family rules and respect both parents, no matter if they are different or same sexes. Young adults are expected to enjoy the world, meaning travelling and gaining new experiences and then find a partner and partially settle down. There is almost no sexual stigma when it comes to homosexuality, bisexuality, pansexuality, asexuality or any fetishes, which can work with consent of both partners (such as BDSM practices with both/all sides consenting or any clothing fetishes), however sexual practices in which both sides can not consent ([1] pedophilia, zoophilia, necrophilia, rape fetish...) are not tolerated and people having them are ostracised by the society. Although polygamous marriage is not allowed under the law, there are many polygamous relationships (which are supervised if they are consentual by all partners). There is no social stigma when it comes to getting sexual toys, including anticonception (condoms, pills, vasectomy...), however, abortion is considered complicated, although is completely legal. Home abuse is considered to be crime as any else, but there must be enough evidence to conclusively prove, that it is happening.
Geography
Zhousheng is mostly mountainous and split by a mountain range in the middle. Southern areas of the country are mostly mountainous and mineral-rich with a subduction tectonic zone, which allows Zhoushi populace to find diamonds and heavier elements in this region. The mountain range follows the border with Prei Meas and later moves through Zhousheng to the tri-border point of Zhousheng, Gadorien & Slovanska Kraj, continuing in the Duchy of Louzeni in Gadorien. North and East of the country as well as Western areas near Gadorieni border are mostly flat, however, highly elevated (on average 1200 meters above sea).
Climate
Zhousheng lies in a tropical area and is split by a equator in half. Although the country is supposed to be mostly hot, thanks to the high elevation and high temperate, average temperature is about 23°C (73°F). West of the country is quite often hit by monsoons, which are halted by the mountain range. Therefore, western area of the country is filled with many rivers and lakes, as well as rainforests. Middle of the country is highly elevated, tips of mountains reaching almost 6500 meters above sea. Area is mostly a combination of valleys and hills, which are cut by wild water mountainous rivers, increasing humidity in the region. Eastern half of the country is mostly hilly and flat without major mountains, filled with arid and semi-arid forests. Here, most of the water comes from the mountain ranges because a lot of air water is stopped by mountains and rains there. In the north, forests and grasslands give their ways to steppes and pampas. This area has only rarely rivers.

Infrastructure
Transportation
Zhoushi government adopted a pro-green policy eversince 2008 elections and protection of nature has been ratified even into Mustelarian Constitution in 2020. One of the policies is providing affortable public transport and taxing gas. Highways are built in order to save driver's time and therefore gas consumption, but there are strict governmental regulations on emissions allowed to be produced by a car. Public transport, both in the city and on the countryside is very good, with trams/streetcarts being in every city with over 200 thousand inhabitants and metro being built in every city with over 1 million inhabitants. Air travel is hardly used for interstate travel, but is prominent when it comes to flying to faraway countries. The Colonia-Pinžak Canal Complex ensures functional naval connection from Gadorien through Zhousheng into Slovanska Kraj and Monte Blancan lake Pinžak
Energy
Energy consumption is mostly held by 14 nuclear power plants (12 uranium and 2 thorium plants) with pushes to limit coal and oil consumption to a minimimum with getting rid of it by 2050. Currently, water and solar plants are not being built because of the lack of sustainability, as their construction effectively makes the same pollution as coal energy would. However, so called water batteries are being constructed (those pump the water up to a hill when there is a surplus energy avialable, creating potential energy that is later released once there is more demand for energy than can be produced). Geothermal power plants are built on the Thuadio-Sekidean tectonic plate border.
