The Economic Convergence Movement (French reformed: Mouvement pour l'convergence économique), abbreviated ECM (MCÉ), is a Gylian political party, part of the Union for Freedom and Prosperity bloc.

History

The Economic Convergence Movement was founded in 1986, during the wretched decade, particularly the point at which the economy was mired in a 4-year contraction.

Initially regarded as a right-wing populist "molehill party", it attracted attention as one of the first parties to attack the Gylian consensus entirely rather than specific parts, instead promoting corporate statism and accelerationism.

Following the National Bloc–Union for Freedom and Prosperity split of 1989, it joined the latter.

The party gained a bad reputation from the fallout of the dérive au droite and neoliberal conspiracy, causing a defeat at the 1990 federal election. It has since remained a marginal presence in Gylian politics.

The ECM represents the corporate statist and accelerationist formation of the UFP.

The ECM uses a dark shade of blue as its official colour.
