Rökkurlynd, officially the Federation of Rökkurlynd (Rökkurlyndsk: Ríkjasamband af Rökkurlynd), is a country in northeastern Norumbia. It's twelve constituent states cover an area of approximately 500,000 square kilometers(190,000 sq mi). It is bordered to the north by Wazheganon, Awasin to the west, Mniohuta by a narrow strip to the southwest, Chenes to the south, and the Salacian Ocean to the east. The country is highly multiculural with many different ethnic groups of primarily Norumbian and Belisarian descent. The major ethnicities have historically been split between two major areas; the three "home islands" off the coast of mainland Rökkurlynd, and the mainland states, of which both have major political, economic, and cultural differences. The population of Rökkurlynd is approximately 38,473,000, of which nearly a third live on the home islands.

Various indigenous peoples have inhabited what is now Rökkurlynd since the last ice age, with the earliest evidence of human habitation dating to at least 10,000 years ago. There is evidence of contact across the Sea of Dakmoor as early as 300 CE, with broader Belisarian contact around the 10th and 11th centuries, culminating in the establishment of the first Belisarian trade posts around the 12th century. For much of early history the indigenous peoples remained largely nomadic, organized into loose tribal structures, until the formation of the confederacy of the nine around 600 CE.
