The 2022 Summer Olympics, also known as the 2022 Saint Raneau Games, Saint Raneau 2022, or SR22 was an international multi-sport event for the Olympic Games held from August 12-26, 2022, in Saint Raneau, Albarine. They are the first Olympics held in Albarine and the first in Southern Adula since the 1986 Games in Santos, Alecburgh. Saint Raneau won the bid to host from a 6-entry session. The Games were opened on August 11th, 2022 by Chancellor Sadie Melhaven, and the cauldron was lit by Noe Bourbeau. The Games featured 298 medal events across 31 sports.
The Olympics saw the notable absense of several prominent committees, initially including that of Yuan who chose to boycott the Games following the Jinchon Sea crisis and international condemnation over the status of Gangkou, Pangchu, and Western Tasiastan. Other nations holding close relations with Yuan, mostly members of ACWAC including Barangadesh, Pekastan, and Kylastan also boycotted the Games. Yuan eventually returned to the games after the ouster of Xi Jingyi and the appointment of Qin Chen, but their athlete attendance was their lowest to date.
Bidding and Election
Saint Raneau, Allengin, Adrikagorod, Gran Telea, Viitaniemi, and Arianna were the 6 candidate cities. The process was slowed by withdrawals, political uncertainty, and deterring costs.

Medals
On 24 July 2021, the designs of the medals were unveiled. The medals for the Olympic and Paralympic Games were designed by Opollo Aldenmann following a nationwide competition. A new feature shared with the Paralympic medals is that the ribbons contain one, two, or three silicone convex lines to distinguish gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively.

Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony took place at North Harbour Stadium on 11 August 2022. The ceremony highlighted aspects of both Albarinean and wider South Adulan history and culture, and featured a segment narrated by Adrien Dupuy with an appeal to environmental conservation and the prevention of global warming. The crowd in the stadium numbered 60,000 and the event was broadcast to an estimated global audience of three billion. The games were opened by Chancellor Sadie Melhaven. The Olympic cauldron was lit by long-distance runner Noe Bourbeau, the men's marathon bronze medalist at the 2004 Summer Games in Tofino.
After an emotional rendition of the Albarinean national anthem, sung and played on acoustic guitar by singer-songwriter Naomi Bombelles, video projections beamed on to the floor of the stadium explored the history of the country.
Starting with images of micro-organisms dividing - representing the beginning of life - the ceremony highlighted the contributions made by the nation's indigenous peoples, by Quetanan explorers, Emmirian conquerers, by slaves and by immigrants to Albarine's history and culture. Performers jumped and danced across projections of giant buildings, symbolising the cities of Albarine, while a recreation of a 14-bis biplane - the invention of Albarinean Mirey Dumont - drew one of the biggest cheers of the evening as it flew out of the arena.
In a stray from most traditional ceremonies which often exclusively centre on the host nation, the ceremony showed the flags of all Southern Adulan nations, with the names of every country and more than 1200 languages represented by the respective number of people, each representing individual indigenous populations.
One of the warmest welcomes of the evening was given to a team consisting of refugee athletes. They were the penultimate group to enter the stadium. International Olympic Committee president Silas Anthou said the team were sending "a message of hope to the millions of refugees around the globe".
The local crowd of 60,000 exploded with noise when the Albarinean team, with 2012 tennis champion Aude Tourneur flying the nation's flag, emerged into the stadium last of all, to chants of "Albarine, Albarine, Albarine".
