The Bay of Montecara (Montecaran: ia Bàia de Montecara) is a body of water off the western coast of Conitia in Esquarium. Hydrologically, it is part of the Gulf of Hope and connects to the Great Ocean. It has an area of approximately 70,500 km2.
Geology
The bay was carved out of the Conitian coast by a large glacier during the last ice age, and consequently is notably deep for its relatively small area. Its deep and unusually cold water by the standards of the region makes it attractive to fish, and it has long been known for its abundant sea life. The deep channel also makes it easily accessible to shipping.
