Hennehouwe first competed at the Invictus Games in 1902 games in Adunis and has competed at almost all Games since then, missing only one Summer and one Winter Games respectively. Hennehouwe boycotted the 1942 Summer Invictus Games in Vicalvi over its occupation of Amathia, whilst it did not participate in the 1936 Winter Invictus Games in Chistovodia due to a lack of funding in the immediate aftermath of the Great War.
Hennehouwe hosted the 1906 Summer Invictus Games in s'Holle, and has unsuccessfully bid to host subsequent Games on a number of occassions. The most recent hosting bid was for the 2006 Summer Invictus Games to be held in s'Holle, which would have marked the centenary of the city's 1906 Games. However, the Games were instead awarded to Crescent Island City. Hennehouwe's National Invictus Committee, Hennish Invictus Committee-Hennish Sports Association (HIC-HSV), has proposed a potential bid for the 2034 Summer Invictus Games.
From 1902 to 1926, the country name was "Hennehouwe" with the country code "HEN". For the 1938 Summer Invictus Games, the country name was changed to the "Hennish Republic", retaining the original country code. This remained in place until the 1966 Summer Invictus Games, when the country name was reverted to "Hennehouwe", and has remained as such ever since.
