Rwizikuru first competed at the Invictus Games at the 1942 Invitus Games in Vicalvi as the Colony of Riziland. After the Solarian War and subsequent independence from Estmere in 1946, Rwizikuru would debut as Rwizikuru at the 1950 Invictus Games in St. Aveline's, and would compete in every Summer Invictus Games since, except for the 1962 Summer Invictus Games, when it competed as part of the United Bahian Republic, and the 1970 Summer Invictus Games, due to internal turmoil in the aftermath of the Mabifian-Rwizikuran War and the Garamburan War of Independence, and financial issues in the aftermath of the wars, which saw the loss of much of Rwizikuru's territory to Mabifia and to the newly-independent state of Garambura. Rwizikuru would first compete in a Winter Invictus Games at the 2020 Winter Invictus Games in Ulan Khol, having previously not competed in any edition of the Winter Invictus Games.

The Rwizikuran Invictus Committee is the organiser of the Rwizikuran Invictus teams, having been established in 1939 as the Riziland Invictus Committee, before adopting its current name in 1947 after Rwizikuru's independence from Estmere the preceding year. Currently, the Rwizikuran Invictus Committee is planning a bid for the 2030 Summer Invictus Games in the city of Port Fitzhubert.
