The 2022 World Cup, also called the 2022 Dabatta World Cup, was an international football tournament contested by men's national teams which took place between 9 April to 16 April, 2022 in multiple cities throughout Kossmil. It was the 48th World Cup, a worldwide football tournament held once every year. The tournament phase involved 32 teams, of which all came through qualifying competitions at the start of the event from an original 64 national teams. It was one of the most watched sporting events in the history of the world, with more than 1.8 billion viewers. Many credited the tournament with helping to reinvigorate the image of Kossmil following the 1960-2019 war.
31 national teams advanced through qualification competitions to join the host nation in the final tournament, with a total of 64 matches played in 6 venues located in as many host cities across Kossmil, but mainly in Dabatta. Public viewing events outside each host stadium at times consisted of more than 800,000 people, and the country received nearly 1.7 million visitors from 150 countries. The host nation, Kossmil, made it to the finals but ultimately fell to Shoassau.
In the final, Shoassau defeated Kossmil 1–0 after extra time to win the tournament and secure the country's second world title.
Teams
122 national teams applied to join the World Cup, but ultimately only 64 national teams were able to reach the qualification rounds. Notably absent were longtime competitors like Ruskayn and Vulkaria.

Media
The World Cup Organization, through several companies, sold the broadcasting rights for the 2022 World Cup to various local broadcasters. After having tested the technology at limited matches of the 2020 Heimdahl'ia World Cup (via private tests and public viewings in the host city of Heimdahl'ia), the 2022 World Cup is the first World Cup in which all matches were produced in 4K ultra high definition. The WCO stated that at least 75% of the broadcast cut of each match would come from 4K cameras (covering the majority of main angles), with instant replays and some camera angles being converted up from 1080p high definition sources with limited degradation in quality. These broadcasts were made available from selected rightsholders and television providers.
Within Kossmil, local broadcasts were largely contained within the rights of KBC 1.
