Note: This page only lists revolutions that resulted in some level of violence or loss of power between two factions, usually the incumbent regime and its opponents. Political and other bloodless revolutions are usually excluded, unless they lead to the fall of one regime and its replacement by another, e.g. Vardana's Revolution of Equals.
