The Euclovision Song Contest 2022 is the upcoming 64th edition of the Euclovision Song Contest. It is set to take place in Alikianos, Piraea, following the country's victory at the 2021 contest with the song "Paradeisos" (Παράδεισος) by Stella Fotiou. The contest will be organised by host broadcaster Piraean Radio and Television (PRT) in conjunction with the Euclean Broadcasters Group (EBG), and will be held at the AlkBOX. Two semi-finals on 19 and 21 April will precede the final on 23 April 2022.
This will be the first time that Piraea hosts the contest in its 63-year history.

Entries
Details of the rules for entries were revealed in September 2021, following roughly the same format as previous years. Live performances cannot exceed 3 minutes and 30 seconds long, and delegations are limited to a maximum of eight people on stage at one time. Delegations also have the option of using a limited amount of pre-recorded backing vocals in addition to the main vocal and any live backing vocals.
Semi-final allocation draw
The draw to determine the participating countries' semi-finals took place on 12 January 2022. The thirty-four semi-finalists were divided into five pots, based on geography and historical voting patterns. The purpose of drawing from different pots is to reduce the chance of "bloc voting" and to increase suspense in the semi-finals. The draw also determined in which of the semi-finals each of the "Super Cinq" countries - Estmere, Etruria, Gaullica, Soravia and Werania - and host country Piraea vote in. The allocation draw ceremony also included the handing over of host city insignia from Lavelle to Alikianos.

Other countries

Broadcasters and commentators
Participating broadcasters are required to broadcast the final live, in addition to the semi-final in which they are participating or voting, with most broadcasters opting to broadcast all three live shows. Due to time zone differences, many participating non-Euclean countries may rebroadcast the shows on timeshift during their primetime hours in addition to broadcasting the shows live. Most broadcasters will also use on-site or remote commentators, who will narrate over the live show in real time in their respective language(s). Some non-participating countries may also broadcast the contest.

Controversies
West Miersan entry
On 10 January, Telewizja Mierska announced that they would enter Ja wciąż cię kocham for the 2022 Euclovision Song Contest.[1] This entry immediately garnered controversy, as the song, which is about a man trying to get his wife to not leave him, could also be interpreted as West Miersa trying to persuade the breakaway state of Lemovicia to return to West Miersan rule, leading to the Lemovician Representative Office in Piraea demanding that the entry be disqualified from the competition, and if not disqualified, for people to not watch Euclovision.[2]
Tour Apostolou 81 fire
During the night of 31st January and 1st February, a fire consumed the Apostolou 81 building in the centre of Alikianos.[3] The tower of 31 floors and 106 metres resulted completely destroyed by the raging fire and during an initial moment, the idea of a terrorist attack perpetuated by a branch of the Lemovician organisation Aranoak was spread by media, after the country's representative office in Alikianos announced a boycott to the contest edition in the city.[4]
During the morning of the 1st February, the Minister of Interior Alex Puloglou clarified the information and dismissed the theory of a terrorist attack. The Lemovician representative office in Alikianos also issued a statement expressing their sorrows and condemning disinformation.[5]
