Etymology
The term Ichyroa comes from The Land of the Inchyroans, a travel journal written by an unknown trader, published in 1689[1], by the now defunct Joqudy Print Company. It isn't known why the name was corrupted from the native name Ngirolï. [2]
Ngirolï (งิโระเลอะ) is the native name for Inchyroa.[3] It originates from the Proto Inchyroan terms for home and beach.[4]
