The name ''Lumakia'' derives from the term ''Lumak'', which is the autonym from the Lumak language to refer to the majority ethnic group in Lumakia. The country's native name ''Mengkâ Lumak'' could be more literally translated as the '''Lumak Republic''', however the official name in Common uses the genitive ''Republic of Lumakia''.
Colloquially, Lumaks often refer to their country as '''Tàk Lumak''', meaning "Land of the Lumaks".

Lumakia (/luˈmɑːkiə/; Lumak: Tàk Lumak [tək luˈmak]), officially the Republic of Lumakia (Lumak: Mengkâ Lumak [meŋˈkəː luˈmak]), is a country in eastern Thrismari, bordering Inchyroa to the east, Mottekkon to the south and west, and the Gulf of Kouma to the southeast. Lumakia covers an area of 187,088 km2, with an approximate population of 43.3 million. The country mainly has a humid subtropical climate, which transitions to a tropical savanna climate in the northwest of the country near Lake Nat Lán. Its capital and largest city is Kó Ròi; other major cities include Sui Làng, Bat Ninh, and Kó Ôk.

Etymology

The name Lumakia derives from the term Lumak, which is the autonym from the Lumak language to refer to the majority ethnic group in Lumakia. The country's native name Mengkâ Lumak could be more literally translated as the Lumak Republic, however the official name in Common uses the genitive Republic of Lumakia.

Colloquially, Lumaks often refer to their country as Tàk Lumak, meaning "Land of the Lumaks".
