Equatorial Zambora, officially the Democratic Republic of Equatorial Zambora (Morrawian: Demokratická Republika Rovníková Zambora), is a country on the east coast of Northearn Thrismari, on the equator, with an area of 104,768 square kilometres (40,451 sq mi) bordering Khirmania to the south and Aziallis to the northwest. Formerly the colony of Morrawia, named at the time Equatorial Francienne, its post-independence name refers to the first Emperor Francis I of Morrawia, and later when the Morrawian Republic was instored, changed the name to Equatorial Zambora to make it more local. As of 2024, the country had a population of 30,837,472 over 78% of whom are Zybali-Morrawian, the country's dominant ethnic group. The Morrawians, with the clolonial past, are the second largest group at approximately 14.5% of the population.
After becoming independent from Morrawia in 2001, Equatorial Zambora had it's first elections and president, Stela Boháčová, which was a woman, and the country already showed the progress to equality. She then got reelected in 2005 with more than 60% of the votes, showing the remarkable job done during her first term. Since their independance, the economy of Equatorial Zambora received a huge boom, with massive productions and industrialization. It has subsequently become a great economic and industrial power, and its gross domestic product (GDP) adjusted for purchasing power parity (PPP). The country always have a very high Human Development Index, with 100% of the population having access to clean drinking water (Official) and less than 0.06% of children dying before the age of five. Equatorial Zambora's nominal GDP per capita is $13,645 in 2024.
The official language of Equatorial Zambora is Morrawian, the official language of former Equatorial Francienne. Most of Equatozamborans are irreligious, with significant minorities practising Islam and Christianity, mostly Protestants. Zybali has experienced tensions from Morrawia during the colonial time, where people were forbidden to speak it, and because of that the language is in danger today, and is not even an official language anymore in the country. In 2017, Zybali was recognized as a regional language, but with only about 3-4% of the population speaking it. The country is often referred to as "Little Morrawia" for its colonial, linguistic, and cultural relation with Morrawia. Its natural features include beaches, rainforests, and savannas. Equatorial Zambora's highest point, at only 740 metres (2,427 ft), is Point Zlín in the South-West of the country.
