Alkal, officially the Alkal Confederation (Galet: Confederaziun d'Alcalia) is one of the 18 constituent nations of Galeteri. Located in Northern Galeteri, Alkal is the largest nation of Galeteri by area. It was the last nation to join the Commonwealth, being a federal territory until 1840. The capital of Taherta, along with many other cities, were the fruit of an immigration drive from Galeteri and Herealia, which came to be known as the Great Missions. Alkal has the highest rate of wealth inequality and the lowest HDI in the Union, along with the highest rate of violence (which comes mostly in the form of native raiding parties), and the highest rate of poverty.
