Yryel, officially The Kingdom of Yryel, is a country located in northern Thrismari and eastern Thuadia. It is bordered by Rie Lake to the north, Tsokeiku to the northeast, Alamtar and North Memea to the southwest, Bashkarstan to the south, and Anchor lake to the southeast. It is also split across the middle by the Madak Strait.

Etymology

The name Yryel has been used for the area that is the southern half of modern day Yryel since antiquity. The name can be split into two parts: "Yry" which means foundation (Semitic yry' 'to found, to lay a cornerstone') and "el" which means god. So together the entire name essencially means "to lay a foundation for god".

Demographics

Population

As of January 1, 2021, Yryel's population is 87,540,000 million people

Language

Yryel's three official and most spoken languages are Hebrew, Arabic, and Chinese. Hebrew is the most spoken language, being used by the government and used in advertising. In schools, Hebrew is taught as a mandatory subject in all grades while Arabic and Chinese are taught as electives from grade 7 and above. Arabic and Chinese on the other hand are difficult to summarize since there are as many as 30 different branches of Arabic and as many as 292 different branches of Chinese spoken in Yryel. Generally however Levantine Arbaic is incredibly common in South and South-Eastern Yryel to the point where it's used by provincial governments and in advertising in some areas. Mandarin Chinese is treated in much the same way in Northern and North-Western Yryel.

Many other languages are also spoken throughout Yryel. Of these the most common are (in order from most to least spoken) English, Tsokeikan, Japanese, and Korean. English is common due to it's international use. Tsokeikan, Japanese, and Korean are all most common in North-Eastern Yryel since many speakers of these languages are immigrants from neighboring Tsokeiku. The area that is most rich in these languages is the city and metropolitan area of Nastor Ha'Rishon.

Yryel has three car manufacturers. The first and biggest is YL which was founded by Yitzhak Esses and Lior Kos in 1938. They make some of the most luxurious cars in all of Anteria. Almost all of their models have been bought by the Yryeli royal family. The company heavily regulates which foreign cars are sold in Yryel because they fear that competition will ruin their business. They have a rivalry with Lesoto motors. The second car manufacturer is Col'Or. They make more affordable cars for the general public. They were bought out in 1959 by YL but were founded before them in 1923. They're known for their many innovations to the automobile industry. The third and smallest manufacturer is Ohm. The company was originally founded in 2007 but only started making it's own cars in 2017. They make electric cars only. As for other types of travel, Yryel has many airlines. Notably YryelAir, YCE, and Malach air. YryelAir is the flag carrier of Yryel. They fly a fleet of many aircraft including the A310, 777, and the A380. The fly to many destinations around the world and they are one of the founding members of the Dokodo Union Airline Alliance (DUA). YCE is notable mainly because it's not only a airline. YCE is the biggest delivery service in Yryel and their cargo carrier is the biggest of it's kind in Yryel. they fly mainly 747s all around Anteria and are very noticeable for their red liveries. Malach air is also known for their liveries. The luxury airline, one of the most luxurious in Anteria, flies only two models of airplanes: the 787 and Erj-75. Their 787s are used for regular commercial (albeit expensive and luxurious) flight are painted gold and brown in swishing lines. The Erj-75s are used for more exclusive flight with passengers that pay more or even politicians flying in and out of Yryel, they are painted in a blue and silver in a similar design to the 787s.
