History
Second Vilerian Civil War (1928-1929)
Main article: 4th June Coup d'État, Second Vilerian Civil War, Battle of Florence
On June 4th 1928, a coup-d'état was instigated by Elarian Corps Commander Daniele Russo and takes office as the first and only military leader in Vilerian history. He was the first to reform the Armed Forces' structure and system since 1912, creating the Federal Air Force in the process on the 20th of November 1928 and buying foreign planes to make its own, starting the legendary Rassault RF-XX series of aircrafts. During the civil war the air force was decisive, as the insurgency didn't have any aircrafts.
On December 18th 1929, Colonel Ogiden Shtormov and Republican leader Ezio Bongiovanni entered Novokhäservsk with 5,000 men and 30 stolen Ja-5s attack aircrafts, bombarding the Presidential Palace and killing most of the cabinet including 2/3rd of the lower house in the right wing. As they entered and captured Commander Korovjev, the first real air battle in Ekharnian history took place, the 30 stolen Ja-5s against 25 more modern Ja-8s. The Republicans fought to death and lost 8 aircrafts while the enemy lost them all, the legend of the first Ekharnian Ace Vladimir Koroktevich was created, it is theorized that he took down half of the enemy crafts, even if historians think he actually shot down 6 of them. He was the first to receive the Order of the Federal Glory of Ekharnia.
During the Second Republic (1929-1941)
The Air Force had to modernise, Jagrimov was given the exclusivity on fighter and attack aircrafts manufacturing and during the Second Republic, they produced 4 aircrafts, the Ja-9, Ja-11, Ja-12 and Ja-14, the last of them being a total failure and has only been produced 20 times. The Ja-12 kept the place of main fighter aircraft with a modernised version named the Ja-12M, then other models including the Ja-12P for parades, Ja-12S for the special air squadrons and the Ja-12X for prototype guns and bombs testing. More recently, it had been decided that Koroktevich Aeronautics Industries would handle bombers, creating the first prototype Ko-935Z heavy bomber and being signed into 3 different aircrafts, the light Ko-935L1, the medium Ko-935M7 and the heavy Ko-935H3 bombers.
Third Ekharnian Civil War and Third Republic (1941-1951)
Anger had been brewing for 2 years now, the return to the monarchy wasn't welcomed by a lot of people. And on August 4th 1943, the Air Force commander at the time, Boris Moljev, broke away from the Armed Forces and declared war on the monarchical government, covered by the Anti-Monarchists known today as the "New Insurgents". The civil war officially started on August 7th 1943 with the first shots being fired in the biggest cities, the first actual engagement recorded was the Battle of Marenazzo where insurgents flooded the regional assembly and took control of the region and established the current Marenazzo Air Force Base and the Ekharnian Air Force Academy. By the start of September, most of the country was taken over by the insurgents as they were fighting 13 to 1. The Air Force made their move on September 4th and destroyed the allied positions around the capital, giving the insurgents the ability to enter the capital and capture the then King, Jovan XIII, and making him prisoner. Then officially declaring the end of the third civil war and creating a provisional government known today as the "Third Ekharnian Republic", the government was in place for 8 years and 2 presidents.
After the civil war, the government decided to modernize the armed forces, through this, the air force acquired its first jets, the Ja-15 in 1948, the Ja-16 in 1949 and finally the Ja-20 in 1951.
