The president of the Commonwealth of Galeteri, also known as the president of the commonwealth, federal president or colloquially as the president of Galeteri, is the head of Galeteri's seven-member Council of Equals, the country's executive branch. Elected by the Assembly of the Union for four years and approved by popular referendum, the officeholder chairs the meetings of the Council of Equals, and undertakes special representational duties.
First among equals, the president of the Commonwealth continues to head their assigned ministry through their term. The president's only powers above the other six councillors are to call meetings, representing Galeteri in international events and state visits, commanding the military (with approval from the rest of the Council), adressing the Assembly of the Union and releasing statements and notes on behalf of the Council. Documents such as law proposals and letters of credence are still signed by all members of the Council of Equals.
