The two parts of the mainland are connected by the 36,4 km long Owir Bridge. Ferries and small aircraft connect the islands and country across the strait. The six cities with populations over 250,000 are the capital Taubon and Todon in the North; Relsessit, Nutho, Rekal and Sesthove in the South.

Climate

Toubaze has a temperate climate, with hot summers and cold winters. Snow is more frequent in the north near the mountain range that borders Sarussia while the south gets warmer summers.

Politics and Government

Toubaze is a constitutional monarchy with King Enhala XIV as head of state. The role of monarch however has been limited to ceremonial and representative roles since the 1963 Constitution. The King lacks any real power within Toubaz politics. The King opens annual National Assembly sessions, holds regular information meetings with the Prime Minister and their government and also formally appointing the government after an election. The Prime Minister of Toubaze is the head of government and presides over a cabinet that is elected by the people using a proportional representation method. Since 1991, no single party has held a majority in the National Assembly, so the prime minister must form a coalition of parties to secure a parliamentary majority, otherwise they won't be able to govern. Toubaze works on the principle of negative parliamentarianism, which means that anyone can form a government as long as it isn't opposed by a majority in parliament.

The current prime minister of Toubaze is Resna Tenili, who has been in office since 13 December 2021. The current government is led by the Teal Government, consisting of the Liberal Party, People's National Party and the Moderates, with parliamentary support from the the Farmers Union.

The Parliament and Legislature for Toubaze is the National Assembly based in the capital Taubon. The National Assembly is presided over by the Speaker of the National Assembly, currently Agra Jol from the Moderates. Elections to the National Assembly work by proportional representation and the percentage for how many votes a party gets, is matched as closely as possible. To get into the National Assembly, a party needs at least 3% of the vote, which gives 10 seats. Individuals can get a seat in the National Assembly by receiving 0.5% of the vote however this has only happened twice. Each region opens for elections and each region starts counting their votes once the time is over. They send in the votes once the entire region is counted. The voter turnout for the 2021 election was 84,3% of eligible voters.
