The Anterian Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (ATPNW), or the Nuclear Ban Treaty, is a legally binding international agreement to comprehensively prohibit nuclear weapons among its parties, with the goal of leading towards their total elimination. The language of the treaty of drafted in a special committee that existed from September 14th, 29th, 2020 and was appointed by Layfetian Executive Minister Spencer Hastings. Specifically, For those nations that are party to it, the treaty prohibits the development, testing, production, stockpiling, stationing, transfer, use and threat of use of nuclear weapons, as well as assistance and encouragement to the prohibited activities. For nuclear armed states joining the treaty, it provides for a time-bound framework for negotiations leading to the verified and irreversible elimination of its nuclear weapons programs. The treaty went into effect on October 1st when Layfet became the first party to the treaty.

Note - Parties unlike signatories agree to be bound to the treaty, signatories simply are in political support of the treaty and willing to continue to engage in the treaty process until such time they are ready to be a party to the treaty.
