La Citadelle is the capital of the nation of Caurisia and second-largest city of Galeteri. It is located at the confluence of the river Parimi and its tributary Litilla. It is the southernmost city of Caurisia and forms part of the Trinational Metropolitan Area of Parimi, bordering Kronholz, Viterstal and Grannard, Costabanca. The metropolitan area is recognized as one of the five Citadels of Galeteri, characterized by the still-standing fortifications surrounding the city and surrounding towns, making Parimi the largest citadel in the country by population.
La Citadelle is the seat of the Arcanaterist High Oraculate of Trade since 1219. For centuries, the city was considered to be the main economic hub of Central Galeteri, being the seat of the powerful Parimisian League. The city is recognised for its cuisine and gastronomy, as well as historical and architectural landmarks; as such, the districts of Le Cercle, Colline de la Ligue, the Citadelle Centrale and Coude-Sacré are inscribed on the list of Common Heritage of the Commonwealth. La Citadelle was historically an important area for the industrialization of Galeteri, being the first city to build public accomodations for factory workers. It is a important cultural hub for arts, being the location of the Parimisian School of High Arts.
