The Dokodo Union is an Anterian political, economic and military union consisting out of 9 member states and headquartered in the Tsokeikan capital of Dokodo. It is not limited to a specific regional or cultural ambit and is solely united by a principle of equality and cooperation amongst members by means of free trade, unrestricted transit of citizens and mutual defence.
Principles and Foundation
The Dokodo Union is formed on the foundation of equality among member nations. Ideologically, and derived from this foundation, there are three principles that constitute the central tenants of the Union. These pillars are:
- Free, unobstructed trade
- Freedom of transit and travel
- Defensive support and protection
These three pillars, along with the foundation of equality, is the core philosophy behind the Dokodo Union.
History
The foundation behind the Dokodo Union is based upon a history of smaller organizations and treaties that coalesced into the Treaty of Dokodo that would finally become the Charter of the Dokodo Union in a reform of the document that was ratified on April 23rd, 2017.
Through the 1960's to the 1970's, the relationship between the nations on the Ayaltan Peninsula was relatively lukewarm and was mainly based around the trade organisations that was formed to oversee and sanction the trade between these nations.
In the 1980's the situation on the mainland became quite strained, and as such the Ayaltan Alliance was formed.
By the shift of the millennium, these organizations had grown so large in size and importance. It was at this point that the member nations gathered in Dokodo in order to dictate the treaty that would officially found the organization.
