The honours system of Freice was established in its current form following the establishment of self-government in 1969. Prior to this, Freician honours were exclusively composed of federal Riamese honours. In 1973, the Titles and Honours Act was passed by the Assembly of Delegates, establishing the framework for establishing and awarding honours. This law remains the primary act for the regulation of honours, having been amended in 1985, 1989, 1999, 2006, and 2022.
Riamese federal honours continue to be awarded to Freician nationals (who are also Riamese citizens), and so are listed alongside Freician honours.
