[[Montecara]] has a complete ban on private weapons ownership. Firearms may not be privately owned, imported, exported, bought, sold, traded, lent, borrowed, or given away. Nevertheless, most adult Montecarans are familiar with firearms because of the country's [[Conscription in Montecara|conscription]] requirement, and a certain amount of range training is required every year for members of the reserves. Considering small arms owned and held by the state, Montecara has one of the highest firearms penetration rates in Esquarium on a per-capita basis.

Laws by country

Montecara

Montecara has a complete ban on private weapons ownership. Firearms, any parts thereof, and ammunition may not be privately owned, imported, exported, bought, sold, traded, lent, borrowed, or given away. Violating Montecara’s weapons laws is a serious crime punishable by up to 15 years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to Ł2 million.

Slovunia

The constitution of the Republic of Slovunia guarantees the right to own a weapon for protection though it must be reasonable for the specific situation. In 1973, the Court of Constitution (Vlacad) decided that the constitution gives the right to own any weapon in theory, as long as one has a reasonable and valid reason for the ownership. This leads to no weapon itself being prohibited completely, even though certain weapons will most likely never be used by civilians as a situation in which the ownership of for example a grenade is reasonable is highly unlikely. Although everyone has the right to own a firearm in theory, one can get this right taken away for major offences. It is possible to own a weapon legally, but one might also get one illegally which also is a reason why it is seen as senseless to prohibit firearms by the Slovuniac government.
