The Komonzu Area is an area comprising countries that have officially abolished all passport and all other types of border control between their borders and share a common visa and passport. The area functions as a single jurisdiction for international travel purposes, with a common visa, passport, and border security policy. Komonzu Area rules dictate that border checkpoints will not exist between member states and member states will remove all obstacles to free traffic flow at internal borders land, sea, and air boundaries to other member states. Thus travelers will no longer have their identity checked by border guards when travelling between Komonzu countries, although many are advised advised to bring the Komonzu passport and/or a national identity card, as proof of where one has traveled from.

History

The Komonzu Area was first proposed by Koharuese Civics and International Relations Professor Masafumi Tanigawa in 2010 while speaking at conference at the University of Cartwright. While still serving as a professor at the University of Kohharu, Tanigawa continued to lobby for such an international organization. Finally, the Layfetian Congress became the first signatory to the agreement on April 30th, 2021, thus establishing the Komonzu Area. Layfet is currently adjusting its policies to come into line with Komonzu Area guidelines.

Membership

Visa Policy Towards Non-Komonzu Area Nations

The Komonzu Area has the following visa policies towards non-Komonzu Area nations. These policies are determined by a vote of Komonzu Area nations. To Join the Komonzu Area, nations must conform their visa policies to the current Komonzu Area policy before calling a vote to change a visa policy.
