Trenalia service map

Passenger rail services in southeast Conitia are provided by Trenalia, a consortium that unites several national railway systems to provide unified service. Trenalia operates both conventional and high-speed rail to a variety of destinations in Nameria, Hagieria and Agrilan, the Desenan Republic, and Montecara.

 Ainin

The Great Aininian Railroad is the sole provider of inter-city passenger rail service to Huimont and central Vaudale Island. Rail services are provided by Urbas Rail in Risagne and the East Notasia Company in Mercier.

Rapid transit

Rapid transit, also known as heavy rail or metro, is a type of high-capacity electric railway that operates on an exclusive right-of-way, and which is often grade separated in tunnels or on elevated railways. It runs frequent service and is generally limited to urban areas.

Freight rail

Freight rail is a crucial means of transporting goods in countries which are either large, with most areas distant from the sea, or small and with high population densities. It is an especially important means of transporting bulk cargo such as grain, coal, petroleum, and ore. Freight rail is extremely efficient in terms of energy use, which makes it second only to shipping in affordability at a large scale.

Technical aspects

Rail gauge varies by country and region throughout Esquarium. The most popular, and the international de-facto standard in Conitia, is Aininian gauge (1,500 mm). Meter gauge (1,000 mm) is popular on town and city tramway systems which must navigate narrow streets and have smaller vehicles with lower capacities.

 Ainin 1,500 mm
 Ambrose 1,524 mm
