Capital punishment has occurred over much of Anteria in the past. However, in the past century, many countries in the region have abolished the practice. The following summarises the countries and conditions in which capital punishment is legal in Anteria.
Capital punishment has been formally abolished by statute or constitution
Capital punishment is only permitted for exceptional scenarios (such as crimes committed in wartime)
Capital punishment is legal and is used for ordinary offences
Key | Country | Year implemented | Year of last execution | Year abolished | Method(s) | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Agarntrop | Antiquity | 1998 | N/A | Firing Squad, Lethal Injection or Electrocution at the criminal's discretion. | Whilst the death penalty was abolished federally and by the Agarn military in 1981, the province of Tierra Naranja still maintains it in statute as an option for 1st degree murder despite not having executed anyone since 1998. It was abolished in 1967 in Tierra Árida and Groot Vikun, 1968 in Agarntrop del Este and Agarntrop del Norte, 1970 in Agarntrop del Oeste, 1975 in Agarntrop del Sur, 1980 in Davdankona, 1990 in Agarntrop Central and 2009 in Tierra de Gris | |
Aquariea | Antiquity (Codified in 1933) | 2017 | NA | Lethal Injection. If lethal injection is not available/inhumane, the criminal will be shot through the crown of the cranial cavity first. A second shot will be given through the mouth, aimed through the cerebellum to ensure death. Measures are made to prevent facial destruction/deformity so the body may be buried by family. | Capital Punishment was never addressed in the 1933 Constitution nor has any traction really gained to make it illegal. Capital Punishment is used for extraordinary crimes and thus, not used frequently. Some examples include murder, terrorism, espionage, rape, etc. For a capital punishment to be granted by a court, there must be direct, foolproof evidence of the crime (ie genetic evidence of location at the scene, hard drive with pictures, etc.) Otherwise, it is a life sentence. | |
Astariax | Antiquity | 2017 | N/A | Astariax almost always gives the death penalty in the event of homicide, child pornography and pedophilia charges, rape, terrorism, and treason against the state. | ||
Aziallis | Properly addressed in the Skaje legal code from 1674. Reserved for only henious offenses by the Uraazilaana Code. Formally drafted into the Azillain Penal Code in 1911. | 2016 | N/A | A lethal dose of a high concentration Opioid cocktail is given, to supress the nerves to the extent of death. Sarlaxone and Nelaxone can also be administered to prevent the "heavenly" feel-good feelings induced by the opiods. Nerve supressants like Gabapentine and some Anti-Sympathetic agents, which are cheaper and more effective, are often used these days. | The Azillian Penal Code gives the Courts the right to decide whether crimes committed by a certain individual deserve death penalty.
Till before 1997, the ruling Monarch had the Priviledge4 to give a "Pardon from Death" to an individual given a death sentence who'd ask for mercy. But the Supreme Court ruled this Privilege null and void on grounds of violation of Judicial Independence and also observing that Courts had been recommending Solitary Confinement as the "next GoTo punishment" which was 'unnecessarily harsh and the cost incurred by the State was more than the spite for vengeance and worth of the said individual's life'. Since 1969, the Capital Punishment (techniques and aftermath) Revision Act, in accordance with the recommendations of the Dasneig Committee, has made it mandatory for all individuals on death row to be killed by a lethal dose of an Opioid and the healthy organs of the said individuals are used for transplants while organs which cannot be used for transplants are sent off to Medical Schools for research and teaching purposes. | |
Axmanie | Since October 8, 1862 | May,2019 | N/A | Electric chair, firearm shot in the head or lethal injection, at the criminal's discretion. | Capital Punishment is legalized and used for serious offences in Axmanie. These include premeditated murder, participation in a terrorist attack, mass murder, genocide, war crimes, high treason, raping a underage person and pedophilia. Capital punishment has been coded in law in Axmanie, since 1862 and the enactment of the Bundesstrafgesetz (Federal Criminal act). This act also included "monarchical propaganda" as motive for execution, but it was repelled in 1900. Landers may or may not execute criminals depending of their own constitution and laws. All Axmaniean landers except Neu Deutschland allow capital punishment for various crimes which are established by them trough their own legislations. | |

Arm Offences Act The Arms Offences Act under Kaory law regulates criminal offences dealing with firearms and weapons. Any person who uses or attempts to use arms can face execution, as well as any person who uses or attempts to use arms to commit scheduled offences. These scheduled offences are being a member of an unlawful assembly; rioting; certain offences against the person; abduction or kidnapping; extortion; burglary; robbery; preventing or resisting arrest; vandalism; mischief. Any person who is an accomplice to a person convicted of arms use during a scheduled offence can likewise be executed. Trafficking in arms is a capital offence in Kaory. Under the Arms Offences Act, trafficking is defined as being in unlawful possession of more than two firearms. Misuse of Drugs Act Any person importing, exporting, or found in possession of more than the following quantities of drugs receives a mandatory death sentence: (§1) 1000 grams of opium and containing more than 25 grams of morphine; (§2) 25 grams of morphine; (§3) 10 grams of diamorphine (heroin); (§4) 25 grams of cocaine; (§5) 500 grams of cannabis; (§6) 1000 grams of cannabis mixture; (§7) 200 grams of cannabis resin; (§8) 250 grams of methamphetamine. Neuewland | Antiquity | 2018 | N/A | Execution by shooting | Capital Punishment is legalized and is used for a multitude of offences in Neuewland. Prybourne | 1890 | 2015 | n/a | Should capital punishment become necessary (such as for going on strike), the preferred method is defenestration from the top of the Tower of Commerce. Not only is the forty-story descent effective, but it allows those in the Sacred Marketplace below opportunities to place wagers on where the condemned will land. | Capital punishment is sanctioned in Prybourne for certain federal and military crimes, and used in 7 states. While there are 7 states which include capital punishment within their sentencing statutes, some states (such as Newley and Wildespell) have yet to execute anyone since 1976, as demonstrated by the lack of any executions by these states out of the 1317 total executions which have taken place as of December 5, 2015. No executions took place from 1967 to 1977, owing in part to a Prybourne Supreme Court ruling striking down arbitrary imposition of the death penalty. In 1976, that Court ruled that, under appropriate circumstances, capital punishment may constitutionally be imposed; since the decision there have been more than 1,300 executions, a majority of these taking place in three states: Woodland , Bydale, and Bysummer. Five state legislatures in the modern era have abolished the death penalty, though two of those laws (in Morwall and Limwick) were not retroactive. Additionally, state courts in Vertcoast and Springlea struck down death penalty statutes and their legislatures took no action in response. | |

Wolfgalia | 1833 | 1928 | 1929 | Wolfgalia does not implement the death penalty as it was determined as fundamentally opposing Galea culture and beliefs by the Wolfgalian government in the year 1928, but the nation does send criminals with the most extreme offenses (i.e. Homicide, Acts of Terrorism, Rape) to other nations with which the government has come to agreements (Neuewland, Hyrtexia) for interned and unpaid work for life. |
