Perpetuism or Perpetualism, also known as Totalism or Briscolean Totalism is a totalitarian political ideology, first theorised by Newreyan Political Philosopher Cedric Briscole and Peter Crovnic during the 19th to 20th centuries and was completely described in Briscole's book, State and People, and has been carried on as the guiding political ideology of states from across the world. As described in State and People, Perpetuists believe that Individuality is incompatible with the State and society as a whole, and for one to prosper, the other must be sacrificed due to man's natural instinct to be free from the will of others while at the same time, the individual is unable to survive on its own, with organised communal living being essential for a human's survival and is thus inseparable from the state. As so, Perpetuists believe that, in order for an organised society to maintain in a state of perpetual peace and stability, it must destroy all elements of individuality from it in order for all its members to become "one with the collective" and centralise all power in the hands of the state, giving it unlimited authority over anything thing occur in its borders.

Core Ideology

The central belief of Perpetuism is the belief that the individual and the state are two entities that cannot co-exist, as one will destroy the other if attempted to. Belief stems from Bricole's belief that Humans have an uncontrollable urge to be free of the influences of others (i.e. religions, governments, etc), and to give more freedom and maintain man's individuality would decrease the state's possibility of survival as the eventual end result is anarchy and the total breakdown of civil society and destruction of the state as a whole. Humanity's urge is described as "Sociological Suicide implanted in us by Evolution" by Briscole himself, stating that humans need communal living to survive, being an essential part of man's survival and thus depends on and is inseparable from the state and society, and thus this creates the Freedom-Survival Paradox.

Mankind's desire to be free is the primary internal antithesis that is avoiding the Final Synthesis, the final stage in the development of a society where it achieves total political, sociological and economic stability and sustainability, Briscole envisioning it as the penultimate goal of every society in human society, and the goal of Perpetuism. Achieving this is described as beneficial to all members of a society and a acceptable gain for the sacrifice of individuality in Perpetuist Societies. In order to truly achieve this, a society must go through a Revolutionary Katharsis, or Societal Purification, in which all elements of hierarchy, individuality, and private ownership are forcefully purged and ideas such as the promotion of sacrificing one's self for the greater good is promoted further, following which the true road towards the Final Synthesis and total societal stability is finally achieved. The concept of death and sacrifice is often a noticeable theme in Perpetuist Societies. Sacrificing one's self for the greater good has always been a greater theme in the Perpetuist Mindset. Death and Sacrifice's prominence can also be interpreted as a result of the elimination of free will, what Briscole himself has described as a nearly inseparable part of the human subconsciousness, but must be completely destroyed and controlled in order to benefit the society by adding in its stability, and thus adding in the individual's survival, sometimes being described as killing ones' self in order to truly benefit the world as a whole.

The Collective

The sole aim of a Perpetualist Society is to make all who inhabit it "one with the collective". In State and People, Briscole describes being one with the collective as unifying society under a primary goal, that usually being to create an economically and socially efficient, stable organized society society that benefits all of its members, believe it to be a way of allowing Humanity to reach a higher state of ascendence and help to completely eliminate the many social problems that affect humanity. However, in order for all members of society to be "One with the Collective", it requires the revoking of all Private Property so it can be used for the betterment of society, the elimination of all elements of Individulism in a society as well as the commandeering of private ownership in favor of the state supplying its people of its needs

Duties and Powers of the State

The state having unlimited control over the lives of its citizens is a common trait and believe in Perpetualism. The centralization of all authority and resources to one entity, that being the state, is seen as a necessity for the social and economic efficiency of a society, and thus also its stability, Perpetualism's end goal. The state is seen as the ultimate caretaker of the people and thus must provide its citizens with basic credentials instead of giving citizens the ability to get those credentials themselves, helping to limit individuality and making all members of a society "One with the Collective". As such, Perpetualist Societies are usually imagined as Welfare States where Universal Healthcare and Education is common, with ideas of the abolition of differing wages in favor of Universal Basic Income being supported by most Perpetualists in the modern era.

Economics

Perpetualism advocates for the complete centralization of the economy and nationalization of companies, believing that the state having complete control over the economy will help increase economic efficiency. Economic privatization, as seen in Capitalism, decreases state efficiency and increases personal individuality, something that is prevented in Perpetualist Societies due to the belief that the state and individual are two incompatible entities. Perpetualist Economics argues for the creation of an economy completely controlled and regulated by the state through a Command Economy.

Varzayist Perpetualism

Originating in the Ovan territory of Warßain in wake of the Ovan Revolutionary War, Varzayist Perpetualism is an overtly radical form of Perpetualist Socialism, often called Varzayiser Sozialismus (Varzayism or Varzayisch Socialism). Influenced heavily by both Kardinal Socialism and Perpetualism, Varzayism is a radical, violent, and increasingly destructive ideology that effectively borrows aspects of Socialism, Totalism, Nationalism, Imperialism, and Stratocratism and is heavily inspired by the actions of the Fiorentine and Almannic Empire's of Asura and Rennekka, particularly focusing on either's ability to homogenize and obliterate foreign cultures.

The end goal of Varzayism is the formation of a Cooperative Society through the State, however it argues that institutions such as Theism aren't the only divisions, and that a major problem with the world is its different cultures. Ideologically it argues for a "Pan-Aeian Superculture", one that steadily augments, incorporates, and destroys the many world cultures to make room for one unified and like-minded society. Varzayism states that the main threat to modern society and the Communist ideal, is the constant division between humankind, they argue that States, Geo-cultures, and Religion are the main threats to a global peace. Varzayism seeks, to put it bluntly, to obliterate the disunited world cultures and societies, reorganizing them into a singular, stratocratic, and classless society.
