Over the course of the month, Prince Romolo of Aquidneck will engage in a plot to kill his elder brother and heir apparent to the throne, Benedetto II. A vocal opponent of the Carcosse Duchies, Romolo saw himself as the only true ruler of the kingdom, including the Carcosse, which was historically given deference by his ancestors as trusted and loyal vassals for their assistance during the war against Irsad in the region. The resulting mutual hatred between the King and Dukes then saw the declaration of the Grand Duchy of the Carcosse. The resulting violence results in the launch of the Alpine War.
