Identity
Albidya is the largest city of the region unofficially known as "Al'ard Almuahada", Arabic for "The United Land" and so named because it is a literal translation of Durnstaal, which has the largest Muslim population in the country. The city's identity has changed rapidly since 1991 when many refugees from the Jiddiyan Civil War settled the area, creating a city more closely related culturally to Saudi Jiddiya than to Durnstaal.
Economy
As the largest settlement in the area, Albidiya acts as a hub for the smaller mining towns that dot the surrounding area. Raw ore, mining equipment, and general supplies are regularly shipped through the town. Ore is refined in the town but is somewhat limited due to the difficulty of acquiring the required equipment.
