Lionel Pieters is a New Elklandian politician serving as the President of New Elkland since 2018. He is a member of the Keriga Progressive Coalition and is a leading figure within the Central Adulan nations, especially within the Central Adula Mutual Defense Agreement where he is a proponent for stronger military defense. He became President in 2018 following Peter Mikanra's resignation. His first term has been heavily marked by the Elkland financial crisis and Pieters has overseen a major restructuring of the Elkland financial system as well as a major labour reform.
