Luziyca President of Luziyca Election by legislature The party leader of the political party with the most seats in the House of Representatives in a general election year (either having plurality or a majority of seats) automatically becomes President of Luziyca for a term of four years. Prior to the development of a partisan system, the representatives elected a representative from amongst themselves, and while it still technically happens, they vote for their own leader.

Usually, the President of the Senate and the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies will jointly nominate a candidate before the full house, who will usually be there to accept his or her nomination and deliver a short speech. Parliament is given time to debate the nomination in public. Usually, after fifteen minutes, the President of the Senate will order the doors shut and a thirty-minute voting will begin. The vote is done by secret ballot and the votes of individual members cannot be disclosed. After thirty minutes, the President of the Senate will tally up the votes and declare if the candidate has accumulated enough votes to become President. If the candidate has received enough votes, the President of the Senate orders the doors open and begins the inauguration. If the person does not have enough votes, individual members will nominate candidates.
