The Chamber of Deputies (French: Chambre des députés) is the lower house of the bicameral federal Gylian Parliament. It has 500 part-time deputies, who are elected from multi-member cironscriptions through single transferable vote.
It is the responsible house of the federal legislature, and performs a largely deliberative and delegative role within Gylian politics.
Location
The Chamber of Deputies meets in the Parliament Building in Mişeyáke. Its sessions take place in a separate chamber than the Senate's.
Seating arrangements
The Chamber of Deputies has a hemicycle configuration. Parties are arranged from left to right from the Speaker's chair based on their position on the political spectrum.
Non-inscrits and independent deputies are grouped together in the middle of the chamber.
Speaker
The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies is chosen in the first session after a federal election, and presides over the Chamber's sessions.
A Speaker renounces party affiliation on assuming the office.
The current Speaker is Veþi Duósu.
