Mahrim II (Mahrim Aryxë Palægos; born 19 April 1967) was the King of Trellin, Emperor of Hysera and King of the Isles of Velar from 1986 to 2015, when he abdicated in favour of his daughter, Azara V.
As King of Trellin, he was the protector of Arimathea, Cadenza, Kur'zhet and Txekrikar. He inherited the thrones of Trellin, the Isles of Velar and Hysera on the death of his father and predecessor, Karindos III, on 24 February 1986, and was crowned on 1 June 1986 at Mar'theqa and on 15 June at Hyser. Because the laws of the Isles of Velar do not allow the monarch to rule until the age of majority, at 22, he was not crowned at Parthenope until 1 May 1989.
Biography
Early life
Mahrim was born in Elori, on the island of Tenedos, to Karindos III and Lorel Hathria on 19 April 1967. He attended private schools in Mar'theqa before attending the University of the Sidereal Crown at Mar'theqa.
Reign
Abdication
On 22 May 2015, Mahrim was admitted to Mar'theqa General Hospital, where it was later revealed that he had suffered a stroke.[1] Although expected to make an almost complete recovery, he was cautioned that the stroke was largely due to the amount of stress he had put himself under in bringing the Trellinese Empire out of isolation and through a war and directing much of these processes himself. Consequently, he announced his decision to abdicate shortly after being discharged. His reign was deemed to have ended, and that of his daughter Azara to have begun, on 19 June.
Family
Mahrim married the Marquess Iressa of Azmir on 5 July 1988. They have three children: Azara V, born in May 1989, Udreth, born uh, and Amadar, born ah.
