The Most Serene Republic of San Ivo, most commonly known as San Ivo, is a landlocked microstate in the Coalition of Crown Albatross. The majority of the country is undeveloped mountainous and forested terrain, with over 90% of the country's 270,000 inhabitants living in or around the capital city of San Ivo. There are four official languages of San Ivo; Nuovo Sanivanese and Old Sanivanese; with Old Sanivanese being the lingua franca, and Old Sanivanese a language only spoken by members of the government.
History
For centuries, the region known now as Nazaretha was a part of the nation of Trinegero, until 1903, when missionaries from across Eulopa conversed in the current place of New Bethlehem, which at the time was a large forest. The missionaries began to settle the area, and declared it New Bethlehem, with their leader, Sir Samson predicting that the reincarnation of biblical figure, Joseph, would soon be born in the nearby Trinegeran town of Thyracus. In 1915, a case, which the Supreme Court of the Union of Countries, has called ‘one of the most deliberate cases of crime in history’, Sir Samson and his followers kidnapped Adrianos Leventelis, moments after birth, from his parents, who were murdered by the followers of Sir Samson.
The Union of Countries put an international arrest warrant on Sir Samson, but during the Siege of New Bethlehem, 400 Trinegeran soldiers, 80 Union of Countries personnel, and 20 soldiers of other foreign nationalities were killed. In an act of negotiations, Sir Samson agreed to be arrested by the Union of Countries in exchange for them not only recognizing the region as the independent state of Nazaretha, but to also allow his followers to care for and raise Adrianos, who he in his own words called: “Joseph”. The Union of Countries initially rejected the offer, but when Sir Samson threatened to have his thousands of followers commit mass suicide, the Union of Countries were forced to agree. Sir Samson would die in the Reonian city of Aarlen, at the approximate age of 77, while kept at UC-Aarlen Supermax Prison. He is accredited as a hero of Nazaretha and known both as The Founder and The Divinity of Nazaretha.
After Sir Samson’s arrest, the missionaries of Nazaretha raised Adrianos, and would bring him up in a way that forced him to see himself only as Sir Joseph, the first monarch of Nazaretha. At the age of 42, Sir Joseph forcefully bred with a woman, Lady Damara, which the missionaries of the state considered ‘the mother of our future’. Lady Damara was forced through the pregnancy, and would marry Sir Joseph a week before giving birth to a child that Sir Joseph named Gabriel. When Gabriel was presented to the public of Nazaretha, he declared him as the reincarnation of Jesus Christ, and that he would one day be the leader of Nazaretha. This brought great discussions across Eulopa and the rest of the world, many concerned that the nation of Nazaretha was producing false prophets. That was until December 3, 1964, when Gabriel, at age 7, predicted ‘a great flood to sweep over hills of green’ in a picture he drew. Five days later, ‘The Great Flood of Selkentd’ hit Wrotterse and Selkentd. Many believe that the picture was fabricated by the missionaries who cared for Gabriel, and that it was even made after the first reports of the flood, but there is no solid proof. With the drawing circulating across the world, Nazaretha became a beacon of the Church, gaining millions of tourists each month who would go to New Bethlehem. It was also at this time that a massive wave of immigration began, but as part of the citizenship requirements, any person seeking to move to the nation had to convert to Trinegeran Orthodox. Once done so, they were permitted to move to the city.
In 1952, Sir Joseph created the Council of God, a small group of highly-religious members of the Orthodox Church, who would oversee foreign relations, internal relations, and anything that the monarch did not want to do.
Sir Gabriel would become the new monarch of Nazaretha in 1982, when his father Sir Joseph died, ending Sir Joseph’s reign at 67 years.
In 2003, it was reported that Sir Gabriel, had bred with a woman who became known as Lady Malea, once more by force decreed by the Council of God. There is a controversial theory that Lady Malea was actually Sir Joseph’s first child with Lady Damara, and that the two had an incestual relationship, but it is unknown to records if this is true. In 2004, Lady Malea gave birth to a daughter, Lady Christina. A month later, Sir Gabriel declared that Lady Christina was the reincarnation of the Virgin Mary.
It wouldn’t be under 2022 when Sir Gabriel abdicated his position of monarch of Nazaretha, ending his reign at 40 years, and pushing his daughter Lady Christina into the position of the new monarch of Nazaretha. Many believed that Lady Christina would be the first monarch to change the course of the nation, and make it more ‘normalized’ to western culture. Instead, Lady Christina promised to speak the word of God and to make sure that Nazaretha stayed as a ‘beacon of the Church for eternity’.
