The Federacy of Artegana, most commonly known as Artegana, is a nation in the Coalition of Crown Albatross located on the continent of Adula, bordered by Serra Leon, Timeria, Qalano, and Wareselt, with a coast on the Albarine Sea. Its capital and the third largest city, Buena Vera, is one of 52 districts that together maintain the nation's population of 28.83 million people. The nation's largest city is Tricio, located on the eastern coast. The second largest city is Bracidia.
Historically an intersection of the Bezdekia Road and the empires of Emmiria and Durnstaal, Artegana has a long and rich history stemming from early human civilization. Often utilized by foreign powers as an early trading outpost for the rich Albarine Sea trade, Artegana was unified under a regional empire in 1328. The Empire of Artegana dissipated in 1744, and after nearly 90 years of political upheaval, ultimately united under the Federation of Artegana. For a time, it was considered to be the most powerful nation in the Albarine Sea region thanks to political stability, economic strength, and international integration. However, following the World War and the rise of other regional powers like Timeria, Durnstaal, Emmiria, and Albarine, Artegana slipped into a more moderate role.
Artegana ranks very highly in HDI, remaining one of the middle powers in central Adula. A sovereign state, Artegana is a federacy governed under a parliamentary system, with President Refugio Malama and Prime Minister Santiago Messa currently in office. It is a member of the Coalition of Crown Albatross as well as multiple other regional organizations like the TAFCA and the Coalition Trade Organization. With a GDP around 418.15 billion annually, it is generally considered to be the 28th-largest economy in the world.
