Eltershafen is a city in Durnstaal. Founded in 1880 as Waystation 4 and incorporated as 1890 as Eltershafen. It is a major stop of the Durnstaal Transnational Railway and a center of manufacturing. A population of 2,822,000 as of 2020 makes it the nation's seventh largest city.

Landmarks
Museum of National History: Widely considered one of the best history museums in the country. Has exhibits showcasing the history of Durnstaal ranging from artifacts from the early days of Duern and Yuran to functioning telegraphs from the early 20th century.
Professional Teams
Eltershafen Woodpeckers: Eltershafen's professional soccer team. Member of the Einhelt League and annual participant in the Einhelt League Championship. Named for the city's official bird, the Yellow Breasted Woodpecker.
Identity
Eltershafen's origin as a railroad town has had little effect on the modern identity of the city. Rather, the city has a strong ideal of growth and change with one of the most liberal populations in the country. The city is also the most secular in the country, with around 17% of residents identifying as atheist during the 2020 census.
Economy
The city has a thriving paper and printing industry, producing 22% of all the paper used in Durnstaal and printing a large portion of the nation's books, including 48% of its Bibles. Automobiles form the second largest part of the economy including a large amount of tires.
