|The death penalty is recognized as a legal sanction and can be applied for the most serious crimes. It has never been abolished throughout the country's history, but the offenses to which it can be applied and its frequency of use have been greatly reduced since the mid-20th century. At the federal level, it can be applied to crimes such as espionage, terrorism, genocide, war crimes and aggravated murder. However, there has been a moratorium on the federal government since 2010. The situation of the death penalty varies across states, with some where it's illegal and others where it's applied for serious crimes such as murder, rape or kidnapping. The main method of execution is hanging (provided for at the federal level and as the primary execution method in most states), but there are multiple secondary execution methods offered by some states to their convicts. Military executions are carried out only by a firing squad.

| Capital punishment in Morrawia has a long history dating back to Antiquity. The debate over its use has been a significant and ongoing issue throughout the country's history. Although some regions have moved to abolish the death penalty, it remains legal in others and can be applied to a range of offenses, and on federal level, that includes crimes such as murder, terrorism, genocide, and war crimes. During a State of Emergency, State of War, or declaration of martial law, the scope of crimes eligible for the death penalty is further expanded. The use of capital punishment broadened after the Constitutional Tribunal reinstated it in 1973, after a brief moratorium. Today, the death penalty's application continues to be a subject of debate and varies widely across different regions.

|The death penalty has been legal for most of the country's history, being applied in multiple crimes. In 1992, after the fall of the military dictatorship and the creation of a new Constitution, the number of crimes for which the death penalty could be applied was reduced. In theory, it can be applied in cases of treason, espionage, war crimes, aggravated murder, trafficking of large quantities of drugs, rape of minors, human trafficking and organ trafficking. However, since 1993, there has been a moratorium on the death penalty that does not allow executions (although it could be reinstated at any time). Currently, there are 242 prisoners on death row.

| Capital Punishment is utilized for incredibly serious crimes such as murder, treason, and serial rape. Typically it is done via hanging but firing squads are opted for in severe cases. An older form of execution that was utilized widely during the revolution and the scarlet terror of the early 1980s was exiling prisoners to prisons in the [[Zahak Range]] where they would be sprayed down with a hose and marched out to a cage in the freezing temperatures where they would freeze to death. The last recorded use of this execution was in 1989, though there is speculation that it is still done in secret.

Capital punishment has occurred over much of Anteria in the past. However, in the past century, many countries in the region have abolished the practice. The following summarises the countries and conditions in which capital punishment is legal in Anteria.

Capital punishment has been formally abolished by statute or constitution
Capital punishment is only permitted for exceptional scenarios (such as crimes committed in wartime)
Capital punishment is legal and is used for ordinary offences, but it has been suspended or not applied in over 10 years
Capital punishment is legal and is used for ordinary offences

Key Country Year implemented Year of last execution Year abolished Method(s) Notes
Albithica 1860 1919 1920 Albithica's current Constitution, as well as all former Constitutions, have always expressly prohibited the death penalty, with the notable exception of the Imperial Republic's reversal of this stance.
Amrelia Antiquity 1994 2003 Lethal injection, hanging, firing squad Capital punishment varied by state prior to federal law (which allowed for the death penalty in cases of treason, terrorism, and espionage) banning it in 2003. By 1998, only the states of East Elizabeth and Hirane retained the death penalty, however a moratorium had been in place for several years in both states.
Arkadiac Antiquity 2022 N/A Firing squad or lethal injection Capital punishment has been used in Arkadiac for serious offenses dating back to antiquity. It is only used a few times a year and the process to move from conviction to execution can take years, but capital punishment is actively enforced and remains encoded in law.
Aziallis Adopted from the Skaje legal code into the Azillain Penal Code in 1762. 1957 1974 None The Azillian Penal Code which was brought to power by the Constituent Assembly in 1811 was drawn heavily from the Skaje Legal Code of Union (which were drafted by Ulo Skaje in 1762 at the direction of Serer Arart). The Death Penalty was allowed for a variety of serious offenses and could only be delivered by a Judge of a Court. The Azillian Penal Code gives the Courts the right to decide whether crimes committed by a certain individual deserve death penalty.

Till before 1940, a Monarch had the privilege to give a "Pardon from Death" to an individual on death row seeking mercy. In 1940, the Parliament led by then Prime Minister Venere Mazhetorih amended the Penal Code, scraping the Pardon Privilege as well as making it harder for those charged with sedition to appeal their death penalty conviction by lower courts. Because of such rules, Aziallis executed more than 3000 individuals between 1940 and 1953.

In 1955, then Prime Minister Bizhvo Svave amended the Penal Code again, though this time around, he empowered a Commission called the Mercy Commission, led by the Chairperson of the Executive Council, to grant mercy. The Commission overruled the death penalty in 93% of the cases brought in front of it, effectively scrapping the death penalty. But Svave was unsuccessful in getting the death penalty removed from the books.

By 1973, 9 States and all Autonomous Entities of Aziallis has abolished the death penalty, and not a single execution had taken place since 1957. Then Prime Minister Charita Sukerni, in 1974, proposed the Bill to remove the death penalty from the Penal Code and finally managed to get approval from the Parliament as well as the Executive Council. Governors of Ajenta and Freyerka opposed the law in the UEC vote, and even sued the Union Government in the Supreme Court, though their writs were rejected by the Court. No bills to reinstate the death penalty have managed to even get out of Parliamentary Committees since then.

Bakyern Since Foundation 2019 N/A Firing Squad, Lethal Injection, Electric Chair Capital Punishment is regularly used for serious crimes such as treason, war crimes, murder (depends on the case), and other series offenses. Bakyern is often criticized for its usage of the death penalty.
Barceria Antiquity 1998 2000 Lethal Injection, Electric ChAIR The Barcerian Constitution was edited in the year 2000 to prohibit the death penalty due to popular demand.
Bendan Antiquity 1989 1990 Capital punishment has been abolished after the Great Revolution, as it was seen as a remnant of the totalitarian regime.
Bikinia Middle Ages 1784 1823 Beheading With the establishment of the Republic in 1823, the death penalty was abolished.
Chantadea Since Foundation 2001 N/A Hanging There has been a moratorium on this punishment since 2004.

Dmaskrass Since Foundation 1977 2023 None Death penalty was removed in 2023 because it had not been used for decades and the government does not see the usefulness of this barbaric practice.
Federation of Ekharnia Since formation 2022 N/A Decapitation or firing squad For criminals with murder cases, it has been decided that they deserve a fast death through fast penalties
Eldmora 1810 2022 N/A Lethal Injection, Electric Chair, Hanging, Firing Squad, Gas chamber. The 1810 Constitution allows for the use of capital punishment for serious crimes such as treason, war crimes, terrorism, murder, sexual assault and sexual deviancy.
Encessia Antiquity (formalized 1994) 2021 N/A Lethal Injection, Electric Chair, Hanging In 1994 the new constitution of the Auteker contained a clause allowing for capital punishment in response to crimes "of the highest calibre". These crimes include political corruption, treason, repeated rape/molestation, mass murder, and inciting revolution.

Paxaklemtorno First attested for civil judiciary in 1349 BC
(codified in 278 BC)
2006 N/A In the years of the Younger Kingdoms, execution was carried out in many different ways, including untreated major wounds (severance of limbs, waist cutting, blinding, gouging, stabbing, etc), prolonged death (asphyxiation by hanging, by choking, by breathing in fumes from smoldering coals and by drowning) and immediate death (beheading, boulder crushing, cooking and boiling alive in preheated spaces, etc). The set of methods has changed with time, as more extreme methods were suspended by a moratorium in 1903, then fully abolished in 1944, leaving only hanging and beheading, with the latter suspended by a 1999 ruling. Capital punishment in the Kingdoms of Paxaklemtorno is reserved for highest offences, as only the Royal Court can designate capital punishment upon an individual, with the verification of the acting monarch. Capital punishment is used only in severe cases, where it is deemed equal to the offence committed, such as conscious mass murder, murder, psychological torture, physical torture and rape. In all other cases, the Kingdoms' courts usually opt to impose a life sentence, with such an attitude adopted by the Royal Court as well, following the campaigning of civil rights' activists in the 2000s.
Prybourne 1890 2015 n/a Should capital punishment become necessary (such as for going on strike), the preferred method is defenestration from the top of the Tower of Commerce. Not only is the forty-story descent effective, but it allows those in the Sacred Marketplace below opportunities to place wagers on where the condemned will land. Capital punishment is sanctioned in Prybourne for certain federal and military crimes, and used in 7 states. While there are 7 states which include capital punishment within their sentencing statutes, some states (such as Newley and Wildespell) have yet to execute anyone since 1976, as demonstrated by the lack of any executions by these states out of the 1317 total executions which have taken place as of December 5, 2015. No executions took place from 1967 to 1977, owing in part to a Prybourne Supreme Court ruling striking down arbitrary imposition of the death penalty. In 1976, that Court ruled that, under appropriate circumstances, capital punishment may constitutionally be imposed; since the decision there have been more than 1,300 executions, a majority of these taking place in three states: Woodland , Bydale, and Bysummer. Five state legislatures in the modern era have abolished the death penalty, though two of those laws (in Morwall and Limwick) were not retroactive. Additionally, state courts in Vertcoast and Springlea struck down death penalty statutes and their legislatures took no action in response.
