The People's Republic of North Hyeogmeyong, most commonly known as North Hyeogmeyong, is a nation located on the continent of Euronia, bordered by Jefferson, Tinten and Drambenburg. North Hyeogmeyong is a member of the Coalition of Crown Albatross.
History
Pre World War / Dynastic Period
As like many nations, the lands of Hyeogmyeong used to be fractured by various warring tribes and chiefdoms for various millennia and stayed like so as not much is known about this period of time as documentation of this period is very scarce and in little numbers until the medieval ages, when kingdoms had become to form and gradually grow larger, once particular kingdom ruled by the Jeiden Dynasty in 1342, managed to unite the lands through a series of conquests and diplomatic missions known as the Hyeogmyeong Wars of Unification and allowed the lands to enter an age of golden prosperity never before seen where culture, arts and the economy grew and developed rapidly as well as new technological advancements with the Dynasty ruling over the land for the centuries to come. Soon afterwards, the Sanguine religion began to flood into the country due to more open borders being given and began converting people mainly within the northern provinces, while this was happening, Hyeogmyeong was constantly having to fight wars over the years due to competing interests of other nations eventually declining the dynasty in instability and stagnation.
As the Dynasty began to go into a downwards spiral, the Dynasty took a last ditch attempt and looked at the Dominion of the Sanguine Church to the north asking if some sort of deal could be made to revive their economy and government, so they officially entered their confederation on the hopes of Hyeogmyeong Restoration, this kind of nationalistic ideology grew at first as one that supported the Confederation and wanted the better for its people, but soon, observations of this being the wrong choice began to arose as only the most northern provinces of the dynasty were taken in while the rest to the south were completely left alone to collapse on their own and be eaten up my other powers, this angered many and soon their people began being mistreated and not being properly represented causing many to begin openly speaking out against the government as the nationalistic ideology began turning more in favour towards independence now. As time progressed and the late 1800's / early 1900's rolled about, the Jeiden Dynasty was officially overthrown by the Sanguine Church and installing a puppet council government directly controlled by the central government known as The DSC Puppet Government of North Hyeogmyeong due to the Church speculating the Dynasty to be working with these nationalistic rebellions and the over 500 years old rule of the Jeidens came to an end as things began to get worse for the people living there...
The World War
As tensions began to rise across the world, The World War began as soon, the people of Hyeogmyeong were dragged into it due to the puppet government to the Sanguine Church but however, over the years, people had began to gradually transition towards atheism more as frequent raids and attacks on Sanguine holy sites and communities grew in numbers rapidly which played a key part in the hatred towards their oppressors as a guerrilla campaign by nationalistic rebellions occurred during the war, attempting to gain independence for their people. The nation played quite a big part in naval warfare as that was their main contribution in attempting to stop Zamastian aid to their allies in the east, but overtime, the Zamastians grew more accustomed and found ways to combat our Navy, eventually rendering it useless against them by the time the war was close to ending.
The Inter War Period
After the World War was officially over, the lands were left in ruin due to constant in-fighting and coastal bombardment / raids. The lands were talked about in the peace treaty and the idea of a United Hyeogmyeong was brought up but ultimately shot down as the lands were split between the north and the south. The northern parts were occupied by Beleroskov and the People's Republic of De Yuan while the south was occupied by Emmiria and the remaining allied forces for 2 years, this was done to help rebuild the lands and help the people, but soon the opposing sides had different ideas of how to leave the lands once the occupation was over. Eventually, the northern occupied forces decided to leave due to pleads from the President of Zamastan at the time and gave the north independence with some foreign oversight for an extra year as they formed the People's Republic of North Hyeogmyeong under Guerrilla Veteran, Lin Se-kan, who was declared Supreme Leader while the south was given independence as well and originally was meant to be a capitalist and democratic republic but ended up becoming a capitalist dictatorship while the north become a communist dictatorship. As time progressed, Lin Se-Kan furthered his ideals of a communist utopia for the people, quickly initiating large propaganda and brainwashing programs to produce a new generation of loyal and worthy citizens. During this time, the North rapidly militarized with the help of foreign aid and once this was achieved, just 5 years after the formation of the state, in 1959, the north declared war on the south which initiated the Hyeogmyeong War...
