Alanis is the capital city of the province of Pahl in Zamastan. It is the 7th-largest city in the country and the second-largest in the province after Emerald with 5.5 million inhabitants. It has been one of the fastest growing large cities in the country in the 21st century in large part due to a thriving real estate market and rapidly emerging job creation. Alanis is located at the westernmost point of the Central Pahl metropolitan area, which is the second-most populated metropolitan area in the country with around 40 million people. It is home to numerous lakes, rivers, and waterways, including the Zian River. Alanis' economy is centered around technology and health conglomerates, with heavy emphasis on tourism, agriculture production, and manufacturing. The city's sports teams, most notably its ZSL team Alanis United, are among the top ranked teams in the country.
