Coalmont is a city in the Zamastanian Province of Pahl, and is the 39th most-populous in the country and eighth most-populous in the province with a population of 1,100,000. Coalmont sits along a major transport route between Emerald and Riverview. The city's name alludes to its establishment in the early 1800s as a coal mining village. The city is a frequent stopover for adventure travelers interested in mountaineering, hiking, horse riding, rafting, and other sports in the nearby Louise Mountains. In the winter, skiers come to the city for easy access to the mountains. Two of the main industries of the area surrounding Coalmont are olive oil and wine production, coal, and iron mining. The region around Coalmont is the second largest wine-producing area in Zamastan. As such, Coalmont is one of the Wine Capitals of the world, and the city is an emerging enotourism destination and base for exploring the region's hundreds of wineries.
