Zian Airways is one of the major airlines of the Zamastan and the second largest airline in the world by scheduled revenue passenger-kilometers flown, and the second-largest in terms of freight tonne kilometers flown. It is headquartered in Jade Harbor, Jade, Zamastan. The airline, along with its subsidiaries and regional affiliates, including Zian Airways Connection, operates over 36,400 flights daily and serves 925 destinations in 95 countries on all continents on Iearth. Zian Airways is a founding member of the CCA Airline Alliance, alongside domestic airlines like Zamastan Airlines and JetWhite, and international partner airlines like Air Emmiria, ShoassauAir, Quetana Airways, and AustroAir.

Zian Airways has nine hubs, with Tofino International Airport in Tofino, Zian being its largest in terms of total passengers and number of departures. Most of Zian Airways' aircraft are Toring Industries planes. Zian Airways is a major employer in Zamastan and other nations

Fleet

As of December 2021, Zian Airways operated a fleet of 2,750 aircraft manufactured by Toring and Airsub. Zian Airways operates the largest Toring 757, Toring 797, and Toring 818 fleets in the world. Prior to its 2008 merger with Tabell Airlines, Zian Airways's fleet was made up of solely Toring aircraft. Airsub aircraft from Tabell joined the fleet after the merger, and more have since been added.

Zian Airways often seeks to acquire and utilize older aircraft, especially narrow-bodies, and it has created an extensive MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) organization, called TechOps, to support them. However, in early 2011, Zian Airways began talks with Airsub and Toring to discuss replacing the older model aircraft.

First class

The first class suite seating on Zian Airways flights come complete with closing doors to ensure privacy, a mini-bar, a coat rack, and storage. They also feature the ICE system on a 23-inch-wide (58 cm) LCD screen in the private suites and a 32-inch-wide (81 cm) on the fully enclosed suite. The seat converts into a 2-metre-long (79 in) fully flat bed. Private suites are available on three-class Toring 818 and three-class Toring 797 aircraft. The fully enclosed suites are available on its newly delivered Toring 797ER aircraft.

First class on Toring 797 and Toring 818 aircraft feature private suites, two shower-equipped lavatories and spa, and access to the first/business class bar area and lounge.

Business class

Business class on Zian Airways flights feature seats with a 1.5-metre-long (60 in) pitch that recline to 2-metre-long (79 in), angled lie-flat beds. Amenities include massage function, privacy partition, winged headrest with six-way movement, two individual reading lights, and an overhead light per seat; in-seat power supply, USB ports, and an RCA socket for laptop connection; and over 600 channels of entertainment on ICE, shown on a 23 in-wide (58 cm) HD TV screen. The seats recline and are equipped with personal mini-bars. Business class passengers also have access to an on-board bar at the rear of the aircraft that feature such functionality.

Economy class

Zian Airways economy class offers a 79–81-centimetre-long (31–32 in) seat pitch and has ten seats per row in its fleet. The seat features adjustable headrests, a 3000-channel ICE in-flight entertainment system, and in-seat laptop power-outlets on newer aircraft and laptop recharging facilities in galleys in older aircraft.

Catering on Zian Airways flights from Tofino International Airport is provided by Zian Flight Catering, which operates one of the largest airline catering facilities in the world. Zian Airways also offers special meal options, in all classes, based on age, dietary restrictions and preference, and religious observance. Special meals must be ordered in advance, at least 24 hours before the flight departure time. In June 2018, Zian Airways signed a Z$40 million joint venture with Kelowna-based Crop Eight Holdings, to build and maintain the world's largest hydroponic growing facility. It will provide daily yields of roughly 3 tons of leafy greens per day to all flights, with a near 150,000 square foot indoor, vertical farm.

Incidents

Zian Airways have experienced several aircraft incidents, with three consisting of passenger or crew fatalities.

  • On April 12, 1977, Flight 1007 performed an emergency landing at Huntington Park International Airport due to a jammed stabilizer during a flight from Charnesse, Kuresa. The cause of the incident was a lack of greasing, caused when a large amount of water, from precipitation, entered the metal bearings. All 52 passengers and crew on board survived.
  • On April 19th, 1982, Zian Airways Flight 198 was on a Arinals-Alenchon route when a severe microburst-induced wind shear caused the plane to crash. One person on the ground was killed as the plane crossed a highway. 136 people died, while 53 people on board survived with injuries. Numerous changes to pilot wind shear training, weather forecasting, and wind shear detection were made as a result of this crash.
  • On August 31, 1988, Flight 672 crashed after takeoff in Blythe bound for Abagene. The investigation stated the probable cause of this accident to be improper configuration of the flaps and leading-edge slats. 14 people onboard died, 76 others were injured.
  • On December 7th, 2003, while landing in heavy snowfall, Flight 1812 from Arinals departed the left side of runway while traveling approximately 100 mph (160 km/h), coming to rest nearly perpendicular to the runway with its nose on an embankment beside the waters of Hapson Bay. The accident resulted in damage to the aircraft's left wing (including a fuel leak), nose landing gear well, main electronics bay, nose radome/weather radar, and undercarriage damage forward of the front doors. The aircraft's braking system and condition of the runway surface are being considered as possible causes of the incident. 19 people were injured.
  • On March 19th, 2013, Zian Airways Flight 30 was a scheduled passenger flight from Tofino International Airport to Allengin, Elbresia. The aircraft experienced an engine fire in the #2 engine in the initial climbout. After 25 minutes, the aircraft made a safe landing back at TIA on runway 27L with no injuries. The plane was substantially damaged, but repaired and placed back into service.
  • On February 5th, 2022, Flight 6091 slid off the taxiway of Vogoci International Airport during snowy weather. All 77 passengers deplaned the aircraft safely with no injuries reported.
