The Rìog of Gaellicia is the head of state of the United Kingdom of Gaellicia. Rìog translates most accurately to monarch. The term is gender-neutral and is used to describe both male and female rulers. The position of Rìog is not hereditary. An individual is selected for the position from a pool of candidates put forward by clans.
