Deborah Van Roose is a Delamarian politician, author and lawyer currently serving as the President of Delamaria since the November 22nd Attacks, and was Vice President under President Pierre Monroe as a member of the United Party. She most recently won the 2020 Delamarian Presidential Election.

She was born on May the 13th, 1966, named Deborah Catherine Meyer, to Alexander and Angelica Meyer. Alexander, a wealthy banker and political donor, and Angelica, a socialite in the social scene of Nassaua, sent their daughter to Middlebury Girls School in New Bedford until she was 13. Van Roose recounted her time in boarding school as "the best and worst days of my life". Van Roose attended the University of New Chester's school of Law and Politics, where she graduated with a degree in Constitutional Law. This is also where she met her husband Andrew, who was studying international relations.

After graduating from university, Van Roose worked in the Congressional Offices of multiple delegates, including Crownsland Senator Jim Murphy-Stone. After she would go on to work as a legal counsel for the United Party, and in 1998 would become a Delegate from Crownsland's 4th district after a special election, following the death of incumbent Donald Rutherford.

In 2006, following another Special Election, after then Crownsland Senator Terrence Clinton resigned after a corruption scandal, Deborah Van Roose became the Junior Senator from Crownsland. In the Senate she championed several crime, civil rights and infrastructure bills, which lead to her being called the "Future of the [United] Party" in the 2012 Convention.

In 2016, she ran for the United Party Presidential nomination. In the beginning of the race, she was a front-runner, surpassing then Vice President Pierre Monroe by almost 10%. However, after a loss in the Vandergart Primary, she announced that she would be suspending her campaign. After the 2016 Convention, she was announced as Monroe's running mate in the 2016 Election, the first female candidate for Vice President from the two dominant parties.

During the 2016 Campaign she was widely considered becoming a "co-president", this notion was fuelled by the Carcan Campaign, as in Northern Delamaria she was unpopular. However, she was increasingly popular among Urban voters, with more liberal views on Social issues, while retaining Conservative positions on the economy, military and foreign issues.

After a victory in the 2016 Election, she was a champion of Health, Education and Social Issues, though kept out of most Pritchett House events. Van Roose led the Healthy and Happy Campaign, a physical and mental health campaign for children. In December 2017 she was associated with the AG Wells scandal, having been on the board of the company until 2016. However, a Justice Department investigation found no connection to her and wrongdoing.
