Arkos is the capital of Nyantastan. The city has almost 800 thousand inhabitants. It is the largest city in Nyantastan. The entire metropolitan capital district covers 265 km2 (102,3 sq mi). It is named after the Spear of Torhild the Great.

History

Akos started as an insignificant fishing village and in time became the seat of the king of Arkos. Even today you can find many signs of other times in the city. On the nearby mountain, the Rådsfästning was built by Torhild to better manage the new kingdom. Even today there are numerous excavated pieces of old longships and other objects from Torhild's time and before.

Arkos has three internationally known universities, Arkos University, Torhild-Auzoux University with Arkos Business the latter being the best in Argis alongside universities such as Cumberland College. Since 2007, King Iver University College in the suburb of Flödeburgh can also call itself a university

Theaters

The Dean Hall Classical music concert hall in the western part of the city on Lothian Road. The Commonwealth National Orchestra also plays here regularly.

The Royal Auzoux Theater.

There are Multiple Cinemas and the Arkos Filmhouse where the Arkos filmfestival is hosted yearly.

Legends

Various legends and ghost stories circulate about Arko's alleys and cemeteries. Therefore, for curious tourists on the Royal Mile almost every evening spooky tours are offered by various organizers.

Old Town

The Royal Mile consists of Whin Mount, High Street and Rådsfästning streets and is actually about t 1.8 km long. To the west, it begins at the Rådsfästning and passes through the former Highland Church, Blaidd Gallery, National Museum of Nyantastan, and Reya Lucaria Palace. Opposite this palace is the modern building of the Parliament. Running across the Royal Mile in a herringbone pattern are small, often extremely steep alleys called closes, courts or wynds. There are also several large marketplaces in the old town.

The Queen Street Gardens park stretches between Fästning Rock, on which the castle was built, and Queens Street. Where the park and train station now lie between the two, marshland and lakes once surrounded the hill, as can be seen in older paintings.

The highest point of the old town is marked by a former church tower. Built in the 19th century, Highland Church closed in 1979: The Hub has since found multiple new uses, including as a festival headquarters.

New Town and Harbour

Queen Street marks the beginning of the New Town, which stretches north of the railroad with its streets laid out at right angles. Several monuments and memorials line this 18th century boulevard.
