Era of Calm

The Era of Calm is a period of peace, prosperity and enrichment of the North River Federation, trade increased internally and people began to accrue wealth. The military was reduced in size and transitioned into a force to defend the borders against the Southern States and rival clans to the west. The Era of calm began waning in 1180AD when a succession crisis broke up the continuous rule by the House of Callahan, and saw Alexis Ventaris elevated to the throne. The Era of Peace would end fully in 1207AD, when the Southern States allied themselves with the clans in the west and invaded in a joint offensive. The Era of calm is regarded as a mostly positive point in the history of the North River Federation, which allowed the young entity to cement itself on the peninsula as a political, military and trade force that would sow the seeds of its successor state, The Republic of Pentium.
