Paskal Hecker's All-Dolchic Socialist League had a similar support base as Jlüter's Gemotam Movement, this being among Bessen-Katzenelm's intelligentsia. Prior to its unification into the DSGP, it had seen limited electoral success in the Besser House of the Commons, primarily following the party's hard turn towards nationalist rhetoric. Hecker, also a part time political philosopher for his party, had, before the DSGP's creations, corresponded and met with Jlüter multiple times to discuss and develop political theory. Hecker, sympathising with Gemotamist policies and rhetoric, offered to merge his party with Jlüter's movement in 1938 in order to create a transnational political party operating in both Dolchland and Stedoria, believing this to be an opportunity to further spread socialist ideals throughout the Dolchic world, though Jlüter deferred Hecker's request under the premise that the Gemotam Movement was still building up its political foundations in Stedoria.

Following the Stedorian-Walnerian War, the Stedorian government for the Party of Dolchic Unity had been quickly cut off, with the party being quickly sidelined by the Stedorian government, throwing the party into disarray and leading to a mass exodus of its members. However, some of its supporter base remained as the party fervently shifted the blame onto the governing Stedorian Radical Union. Jlüter, seeing this as an opportunity to take over the Party of Dolchic Unity's position as Stedoria's pan-Dolchic political movement, quickly offered the beleaguered and battered party to merge with Jlüter and Hecker's respective parties, to which most memebers of the Party of Dolchic Unity, leaderless at this point, quickly agreed to. There was no official dissolution of the Party of Dolchic Unity however; the party simply faded away following this, with those who refused Jlüter's offer either creating their own parties or joining larger, more formidable parties.

By the time Jlüter had told Hecker of his willingness to merge parties, the new, authoritarian Fatherland Front government in Stedoria had quickly started to crack down and repress political opposition throughout Stedoria, particularly among the intelligentsia. Jlüter and much of the Gemotam's leadership fled to Dolchland in January 1941, shortly after the start of political repressions, settling in Bessen-Katzenelm. There the party was officially proclaimed, and quickly dedicated itself to the dismantling of the monarchies of Stedorian and Dolchland.

During its period of exile, the DSGP developed close ties with the underground Stedorian Communist Party and communist groups in Dolchland. Small-scale joint communist-gemotamist insurgencies would plague Stedoria throughout the 1950s and 1960s as a result of this co-operation, though these insurgencies would be defeated by the start of the Second Argic War. Primarily due to the lack of any widespread democratic opposition to the joint rule in Stedoria between the absolutist monarchy and the Fatherland Front in Stedoria, the Gemotam Party became the most widely supported group of Stedorian exiles, particularly among the intelligentsia.

The political, economic, and social situation within Stedorian grew dire in the midst of the Second Argic War. With the outbreak of the war in 1968, silver prices, which the Stedorian economy was heavily dependant on, decline sharply; this was accompanied by a sharp increase in military spending by the Stedorian Government in response to its joining of the war. Additionally, Stedorian military industries were insufficiently equipped to detail with the sharp demand of the production of materiel for the war, struggling to sufficiently equip Stedorian troops with modern weaponry and spare parts for armoured and air units. By 1971, the situation had become untenable; shortages of food and other supplies were rampant throughout Stedoria, and the country's economy had virtually collapsed.
Both the Gemotam Party and Communist Party of Stedoria, still allied, had condemned Stedoria's entry into the war in 1968. Additionally, dissatisfied elements of the Royal Stedorian Army, particularly middle-ranking and high-ranking officers, had started to make contact with the Gemotam Party and, to a smaller extent, the Stedorian Communist Party. This finally culminated on 3 October 1971: the Commander of the Stedorian Army, Läkhart Viktor Drejlär, along with General Fabian Lisenmänär and Air Force General Matiäs Fridämen launched a coup d'état in the early hours of the morning, overthrowing King Telvan X and deporting him and his family to Dolchland. The following day, a speech by Drejlär announced the creation of the Revolutionary Government of the Armed Forces of Stedoria, the holding of elections in 1972, and the beginning of peace negotiations to withdraw Stedoria from the war.

The coming to power of the military junta in Stedoria marked the climax of this politically syncretic shift. The junta, threatend by the surrounding communist regimes of Sawbrania and Velaheria adopted a hardline opposition to communism, shifting to a primarily national syndicalist, socially conservative party whilst retaining socialist rhetoric. The era of the junta saw minor crackdowns on the communist Social Gemotamist faction of the party, whilst also using the faction in Sawbrania and Velaheria to portray the aforementioned communist regimes as revisionist. The anti-communist features of the junta also saw the rise of the fascistic and ultranationalist National Gemotamist faction of the party. Much of the Gemotam Party's political history around this time revolved around the junta's attempts to balance between the left wing and right wing factions, culminating in a failed coup attempt in 1985 by National Gemotamists. Greatly weakened the junta politically, and would be responsible for the fall of the junta the following year.

Social Gemotamists maintain that the "enlightenment" of Dolchic people will come about in the form of the withering away of the state. Social Gemotamist support closer ties with explicitly socialist and communist nations of Eurth, and an anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist foreign policy.

Origins
Social Gemotamist originates in the DSGP's early years following its exile from Stedoria to Dolchland. The Party's frequent contact with Stedorian and Dolch communist groups resulted in the growing influence of communist ideas within factions of the Gemotam Party. The DSGP, in its time in exile, would tolerate the existence of communist factions both to appease communist groups it worked with and to help propagate the perception of the DSGP functioning as a unified opposition force. Despite this, however, early Social Gemotamists would not be a sole faction, but rather a motley of factions espousing different communist belief, though all these factions would be similar in espousing fundamental communist ideas such as class conflict, historical materialism, and the withering away of the state.

^c The Dolchic Socialist Gemotam Party - Sawbrania Region is a de jure seperate political party from the Stedorian DSGP, with a seperate general-secretary and party committee, though the party de facto operates as a regional branch of the Stedorian-led DSGP.

The Dolchic Socialist Gemotam Party (Stedorian: Gemotamapalet Dolcik Sogädimik), (Dolch: Dolchische Sozialistische Gemotam-Partei), is a Gemotamist political party with branches within all Dolchic nations, though the party currently only maintains power within Stedoria. The party's ideology is based on syncretic beliefs, with the party espousing left-wing, dirigist economic policies whilst also promoting right-wing social values that seek a "rebirth" of Dolchic and Stedorian society.

The party was founded by Gemotamist philosophers and thinkers Falk Jlüter and Kristof Yebalänan in 1944 and remained a relatively small political force in Stedoria owing to the government's then authoritarian, one-party regime. As a result, the party found most of its support among politically conscious Stedorian intelligentsia in exile, though the party also infiltrated government positions held by intelligentsia before seizing power, as seen in the 1971 Stedorian coup d'état.

Following the 1971 Stedorian coup d'état, the Revolutionary Government of the Armed Forces of Stedoria under the junta's leader, Läkhart Viktor Drejlär, established the Gemotam Party as Stedoria's sole legal ruling party. Attempting to foster pan-Dolchic sentiment throughout Argis and on a lower scale the rest of Eurth, the Gemotam Party further established itself as an international party, with party branches being located throughout Dolchic and Buranic nations, though these branches have failed to gain power; these parties are generally considered to be fringe parties.

After Drejlär and the Gemotam Party was outsted from power in Stedoria in 1986, the party and its supporters started a civil war in the country, lasting until 1994, in which the Gemotam Party and its supporters were defeated. The party's remaining leadership that had not been imprisoned fled to COUNTRY, where the party played a role in its opposition to the monarchy. After the Second Stedorian Revolution, the then newly-formed National Party of the Stedorian Revolution embraced Gemotamism as the party's ideology, resulting in the NPLS establishing itself as a regional branch of the Gemotam Party.

History

Founding and early years: 1943-1972

The Dolchic Socialist Gemotam Party was founded on September 11, 1943, in Heinfeldes, Bessen-Katzenelm, by Stedorian philosopher and leader of the Dolchic Gemotam Movement, Falk Jlüter, and Dolch politician and leader of the All-Dolchic Socialist League, Paskal Hecker, along with party members of the Party of Dolchic Unity, a transnational party based in both Stedoria and Dolchland, and previously Walneria, that had previously received support from the Stedorian government during the Stedorian-Walnerian War by acting as a proxy party for the Stedorian government in Walneria prior to the war's outbreak. Jlüter's Dolchic Gemotam Movement, founded in 1937 in Stedoria, had remained a small political fringe movement until its merger, though it received popularity among some of Stedoria's generally Dolchphile intelligentsia. Much of the Gemotam Movement's actions during this time consisted primarily of further development of Gemotamist ideology rather than any interest in electoral success. Once the movements ideology and programme had been officialy decided, it was deemed it necessary for the party to merge with an already successful electoral movement to boost both the party's credibility and noteworthiness.

Following the Stedorian-Walnerian War, the Stedorian government's support for the Party of Dolchic Unity had been quickly cut off, with the party being quickly sidelined by the Stedorian government in the view that it was no longer politically useful, throwing the party into disarray and leading to a mass exodus of its members. However, some of its support base remained as the party fervently shifted the blame onto the governing Stedorian Radical Union. There was no official dissolution of the Party of Dolchic Unity however; the party simply faded away following this, with those who refused Jlüter's offer either creating their own minor parties or joining larger, more formidable parties. The new DSGP's support was further assisted with the Stedorian Radical Union's dissolution following the Stedorian-Walnerian War, as pro-Dolchic factions of the party flocked to the new DSGP.

Both Gemotamism, along with opposition to Gemotamism, have spanned the entirety of the political spectrum, including far-left communism, centre-left social democracy, centre-right economic liberalism, to far-right fascism, essentially all of which have both had internal currents within the Gemotam Party and have also opposed the Gemotam Party. This has led to, throughout its history, conflict with opponents of Gemotamism, but also conflict within the Gemotam Party itself, which was partially responsible for the collapse of the Gemotamist Stedorian military junta. Proto-Gemotamism, along with early Gemotamism in the 1940s and 1950s, was undoubtedly left-wing and revolutionary in nature, espousing heavy socialist and populist rhetoric. Throughout the 1960s, the party saw a shift towards political syncreticism with an emphasis on opposing communism.

Greatly weakened the junta politically, and would be responsible for the fall of the junta the following year.

This would continue until the Second Stedorian Revolution and the subsequent Gidareig, in which the party would rapidly radicalise from internal Gemotamists within Stedoria once again joining the Party, leading to the Orthodox Gemotamist faction to regain dominance of the party. The Orthodox faction continues to dominate the Stedorian branch of the Gemotam Party, although minor internal opposition does exist.

One of the party's oldest factions, Social Gemotamism represents the most radical form of left wing Gemotamism. Whilst not explicitly self-labeling as communist, the Social Gemotamist faction incorporates many elements of communism into Gemotamist theory, primarily the inclusion of historical materialism, opposition to private property, and class conflict. Neo-Gemotamists

A newer faction of the party, Neo-Gemotamism is widely considered to be a centre-left to left-wing more appealing "modern" form of Gemotamism. The faction ranges from democratic socialists to social democrats to left-wing populists, with some members supporting a democratic tranfer to syndicalism, whilst others support a Keynsian oriented economy. The faction's most prominent belief, however, is its socially liberal policies, supporting minority rights, women's rights, and LGBT rights. The Neo-Gemotamist faction's primary support base is among younger, university-educated Gemotamists.

Now

Orthodox Gemotamists

The party's oldest and most influential faction, Orthodox Gemotamists represent the party's old guard and ideologically syncretic faction. Orthodox Gemotamism's primary ideology rests on anti-capitalism, national syndicalism, socialism, economic nationalism, and social conservatism. Orthodox Gemotamism was heavily influenced by the Stedorian military junta, and the faction's ideology heavily emulates the junta's policies whilst maintaining itself to be the truest ideological form of Gemotamism. The faction's support base relies primarily on middle-aged and older Gemotamists.

History

Now

National Gemotamists

One of the party's older yet smallest factions, National Gemotamists represents the most rightward shift of Gemotamism. Whilst in its early years the faction endorsed fascism, it has since refuted this label, although many still consider the faction to be influenced by fascist thought. The faction's main ideological principles are ultranationalism, militarism, conservatism, and corporatism. Whilst influential during the Stedorian military junta, the faction's involvement in the 1985 coup attempt heavily tarnished its reputation; many opponents of the faction associate it with primarily contributing to the junta's collapse, despite aggressive efforts by the faction to shed this legacy.

Now

Revolutionary Gemotamists

The party's smallest faction and widely to be considered the most radical, eccentric, and extremist of all the party's factions, Revolutionary Gemotamists, are a syncretic blend of political ideologies and ideas. Revolutionary Gemotamists are ultranationalistic, socially progressive, and militaristic in nature, whilst also supporting the idea of class conflict and the abolition of private property, vehemently opposing capitalism, communism, and fascism. The faction is also explicitly anti-democratic, supporting violence as a means to obtain power and to unify Dolchic nations, and supporting the creation of a one-party state that forcibly supresses the opposition. The most eccentric of the faction's beliefs, however, is its support for pan-Argicism over pan-Dolchism. The party maintains that a single Argic nationality and identity must be created, and that the entirety of Argis must unite as one federalised nation under the leadership of the Gemotam Party, and that this united Argic nation must militarily intervene in other continents to prevent imperialism.

Criticisms

Accusations of authoritarianism

The Gemotam Party has been criticised by various human rights organisations, both within and outside Stedoria, for its alleged practices of democratic backsliding. Whilst it is generally accepted by human rights organisations and election observers that Stedoria's first post-revolutionary elections in 2010 met international democratic standards, following elections have been met with increasing criticism. Accusations of voter intimidation have become increasingly common with reports of Stedorian military personnel guarding polling stations. The Stedorian government has responded to this criticism by describing it as a necessary measure to protect voters from terrorism. Various opposition figures have also been arrested; prior to the 2022 Stedorian general election, leading opposition figure and leader of the Stedorian Liberal Party, Talmät Malsäg, was arrested on February 6th, 2022, by the Stedorian Committee of Public Safety on alleged charges of money laundering.

Additionally, Gemotam Party members and leaders in party branches outside of Stedoria have also come under criticism for alleged authoritarianism, primarily in the form of calling for the dismantling of their respective countries' liberal-democratic systems.

The Gemotam Party has also come under criticism by various left-wing and left-leaning political groups and think tanks, with the DSGP often being accused of espousing a modified form of fascism. Various members of regional Gemotam parties both in Stedoria and outside the country have been accused of espousing ultranationalist rhetoric and sentiments. Additionally, Gemotamist ideology espouses a high importance on militarism within nations and a desire for individuals to subordinate their interests for the interests of society and the state, both of which are often defined as characteristics of fascism. Anti-immigrant, populist, and demogogic rhetoric has also been used by Gemotamist figures in nations outside of Stedoria.
