Etymology

(WIP. Where does your country's name come from? Most RL national names come from a small variety of choice. Some examples: land of a tribe (ex. France, Persia, Mongolia, Russia), characteristic geography (ex. Netherlands, India, Morocco), an old ruler or religious figure (ex. Philippines, San Marino, Europa, Saudi Arabia), the Latin description of a place (ex. Australia, Argentina, Liberia). How is the name pronounced? How is the name translated into other languages?)

Geography

(WIP. Landscape. Climate. Where exactly is your country compared to others on the global map? Describe the landscape, plants, and animals. Which mountains and rivers are important to include? Describe are the climate and seasons? How does geography determine where people live? Are there areas separated from one another? How about cities? This will greatly help you with the next part of history.)

The geography of Charkov varies across the nation. The Southern third of the country is mostly mountains in the South West and South East, with the large Arldgrod valley in-between. The second largest city Arldgrod is the main population center of the region. The West is mainly known for being the home to the Great Talovich Plateau. Despite being relatively flat, due to the sparse resources there are few cities in the region. The North is known for the jagged coastline of the Argic Ocean, and the large historical Port Ravelski. The majority of the population lives in the West, which is home to the third largest city Noralzsk alone the lake of [MISSING]. The major port of Rimerov is also in this region alone the Manamo coastline. Central Charkov is dominated by small rivers and valleys, with the capital Kovchi near the centre.

Climate

The climate of Charkov is known for being extremely cold. Most of Charkov is in the DFC Koppen Climate category. The mountains in the Argic range and some of the Great Talovich Plateau however, have a DFD climate. The average amount of annual precipitation is... [WIP]

History

(WIP. How did your current country come to be? What were the country's previous incarnations? Was the country part of a union with a neighbour? Which events shaped the way the country is today?)

The history of Charkov begins when the believed first settlers arrived around 2500BCE. When the first permanent settlements formed around 175BCE, it set the stage for a long history with much bloodshed, but also many prosperous times.

Prehistory

Pre-Humanity (10 000 000BCE - 2500BCE)

The modern shape of the region first formed roughly 10 million years ago. Before humans arrived, the region was mostly filled with forests and mountains. Rivers slowly carved through the Earth to create the vast valleys seen today.

Settlement

Pre-Civilization (2500BCE - 175BCE)

The first inhabitants of the Charkov region arrived around 2500BCE. Very little is known about these people, apart from the fact that they were nomads who usually used stone tools, although there is evidence that a couple hundred years before the first settlements some of these tribes learnt to craft metal tools.

First civilization (175BCE - 0CE)

This time period showed the first permanent settlements form. During this time, many of the tribes slowly learnt how to forge metal tools, developed agriculture that could survive the climate, and formed small kingdoms. [WIP]
