Pentian Areoways Incorporated is a privately owned corporation that operates as Pentium's national airway. Founded in 1967 as an effort to offer Pentian citizens a competitive option to foreign airlines in Pentium, despite its foundation during the isolation period of the Republic of Pentium, citizens and corporations were free to interact with the outside world. Largely popular due to its affordable prices and quality operations, PAI has continued its successful international operations with airports in several major and minor cities within Pentium having been sponsored by the continued success of the company. Pentian Aeroways has remained a relatively clean record over its years of operation, only having a handful of minor incidents through its history. Pentian Aeroways Inc mostly operates outside of Pentium, however it does have a presence within the local economy to fulfill its original goal of providing a competitive option within the nation itself.

History

After the end of the war, most of the Republic was spending time rebuilding the devastated nation. While the loss of so many historical buildings, monuments and items was a devastating loss to many people within the nation. It was also a period of restitution and rebuilding for many cities and industrial centres within the Republic's most valuable heartlands, PAI was born in the post-war frenzy of construction and restoration. One of its biggest draws in the opening years of its operations was the opportunity to find reprieve from the destruction abroad, giving weary civilians and retired soldiers time elsewhere for an affordable price point. Travelling boomed during these formative years of PAI, allowing the young company plenty of room to grow and expand its fleet of aircraft to serve more citizens and increase its brand recognition. During the early 80s, PAI started to see less and less profits for international travel as the country began to pull itself back together from the brink of collapse and into a recognizable, functional state of being. PAI decided to move into the domestic market as well, with the recreation of larger airports and aerodromes.

Domestic Expansion

The Domestic Expansion was a semi-successful campaign to widen the market share of PAI in the domestic Pentian Industry, while the experience and professionalism of PAI managed to gain early momentum in the emerging marketplace, PAI was outmaneuvered and outcompeted by several smaller local airlines that flew smaller markets for a cheaper price. Eventually being pushed out of some of the newly gained routes, and yet retaining several ones as well. It was declared a success in 1987 when the CEO at the time ended the campaign in response to a greater increase in international travel as the countries economy properly began to recover and people began more able to grow economically and travel more outside of the country.

Aircraft in Service

PAI operates several aircraft of varying sizes, but the main two are the PAI-77 and PAI-575. Each serve different roles, the PAI-77 operates mostly as a medium to short range aircraft for lower density travel requirements. The PAI-575 is a long-haul aircraft that can carry up to 200 passengers and has served as the workhorse of the air fleet for several decades now, several modernization projects have kept the aircraft in good condition and service. The airline is not perusing an alternative option for its aircraft at the moment due to its relatively modern design and upgrade packages.

Operational Areas

PAI operates out of Saltbrook Channel primarily, the beating financial heart of the Republic of Pentium. It serves the majority of routes within Pentium, but its not typically the preferred option for domestic travel. Internationally, there is far less competition for PAI within Pentium and has several flight options to destinations far and close. PAI's initial focus on finding international partners to work with have assisted to keeping international travel costs lowered than some of its competitors within Pentium. Because of the advantages internationally, PAI makes a majority of its revenue on international flights and shipping goods internationally as well.
